This machine is far better than my PCut, by a long way. However, every time I cut, even if I back the vinyl all the way back to the blade, it skips forward over a foot before it starts to cut. Im wasting quite a bit of vinyl with this thing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! -
Blade holder broke within a few months. Managed to fix it myself, but after a while broke again.Cheap, crap plastic parts, and it looks like it was designed to fail, right there, milled VERY thinly. Called US Cutter to get another, but no more available. There is a replacement "different" part, but out of those too. First guy I talked to told me a bunch of stuff that wasnt true and had to go through process all over. Second guy was nice but did not offer any info about "used" parts until I asked him about it. After I asked some probing questions, found out there is a stockpile of returns that they pillage for parts and a "new" style carriage was available, used, for 50 bucks. The part comes to my door, and no directions. None, nothing, nada. As I am not a rocket scientist, this looks impossible. Almost nothing on the website/internet has any support on how to do this. Granted, it is Easter, so I cant call to get help. Cant fault them for that, though. Anyway, everything I take apart gets more and more complicated. This is definitely NOT a pop it out and pop it back in repair. So, buy at your own risk. Good luck, youre going to need it.

Hi! Can you copy and paste data from one inkscape file to another?
bombora007 posted a topic in Inkscape
To clarify, I want to copy a vectored logo in one file to another, basically a logo with someones name under it, and then use the logo again for somebody elses name under it. (No, Im not selling them as fakes) If I try to copy from one file and paste the logo to the other, it doesnt work. Duplicate appears to only duplicate within the same file as well. Any iedas would be awesome and save me a lotta work. Thanks in advance, JHW -
Ok, so there are time when I want to edit a line. If you drag that line in either direction, the node handles show up and you can drag/edit it how you wish. Fine. Other times, when you drag a line or move a node handle, the opposite handle, attached to the same node, moves around also. I dont (always) want it to. Why do some nodes behave and others aggravate the hell out of you. I notice that nodes turn blue and yellow at some point but I cant make any sense of whats going on. Thanks, JHW

Node editing...Why do nodes become "active" and resist what I want them to do?
bombora007 posted a topic in Inkscape
I dont really know how to explain this. When tracing an image, its quite easy to just grab the line youve made and drag it into any shape you want. I can extend handles from the nodes and usually do what I need. But, especially after I trace to bitmap, if you try and drag a line to fix a curve, the node comes alive with the blue and yellow color. When you drag the line at this point, the handles come alive and what you move affects the curve on the other side of the node. How can I turn this off, so that when I try and edit a line, it does not move the line on the other side of the node? Hope that makes sense, Thanks! -
Tracing jpg's in Inkscape causes double cuts in Signblazer...

are you saying that will get rid of the second cut? -

Here is a file I made in Inkscape...Youre welcome to pick it apart and see whats up...Thanks guys... pk ripper frame.svg pk ripper frame.svg -
I have been using Inkscape as my tracing program for 6 months now. Since I started, I have always had to import the eps file to Signblazer, and cut withit also. When I do this, Signblazer cuts my image twice, and I have to clean up all this spagetti crap from in between the 2 cuts. When I trace same image in SB, I get a nice tidy single cut. The problem is, I think SB sucks! But I have to use it since Inkscape doesnt cut! Could this be (as someone suggested) that the line I am tracing with is too thick and therefore the cutter is cutting both sides of the line? Is this possible? What should take 30 seconds takes 20 minutes and its nopt worth doing at that rate. Im pulling my hair out, anybody help with this one? Im about to put my foot thru the screen... heres a pic of the stuff left behind after the 2 cuts... Thanks to anyone who can help.

Double cut residue really getting to be a pain...what do I do?
bombora007 replied to bombora007's topic in SignBlazer
Ok, so most of what I do is trace jpgs in Inkscape to cut in Signblazer. I justtraced an image in SB (which I find awkward and clumsy) printed it and lo and behold, only 1 cut! The problem might be happening in Inkscape, and then coming over to SB! A light atthe end of the tunnel! -

Yep, once I stopped settled down and actually read what he posted, I followed his instructions. After doing that, there still appears to be no dual images or layers underneath the first. I am startingto wonder whether notthe images I have drawn in Inkscape are with apen that is too wide, which is casuing the second cut to emulate the width of the line. Any other advice would be welcome... -

Wait, my nudge is set to .04 now...shouldnt this be set to 0.0 so that the blade goes over the exact same area instead of off a tiny bit? And I just saw the duplicate amount tabs there also,... Im assuming "nudge " means to nudge over on the second pass, but also duplicate could mean the same thing...Should this be on 0.0 also? Can I screw with these settings and mess anything up? Hey man, thanks sooooooo much for pointing this out...Waiting for your next set of info, thanks man! -

So, this time I took pics to demonstrate whats going on. In short, every time I cut something, the cutter cuts it twice, as in, to make sure it got cut. So, it appears to go over every line twice. And as before, it leaves these little stringy things behind that are messy and ifthey get under an application, with cause a visible mark, like a hair under window tint... It can make things that should take 1 minute take 10 and is starting to make this not worth messing with. I am resonably sure that I am not cutting 2 images, I watched the video a few weeks ago that someone kindly posted, and messed with all weeding settings that I know of... Ugh. Anyone? Please?
