Singer Pro9s & Siser Easy Weed

Only concern is the unit does not provide enough pressure for the heat transfer. Are you able to lock down the cover at firm pressure?

Check their eBay store. Sometimes they have the cd there with free shipping.
  5. If you're losing USB connectivity. You're not getting enough power from your port. Try an external powered USB hub
  6. Flexi start 10 is out at US Cutter now. I would call them and ask if you could upgrade by paying the difference in price if you're willing to spend another $40.

    Need a little install guidence!

it's a little tougher with clear app tape, try cutting slits on app tape so you can apply the decal on curved areas. With paper app tape, you just start ripping the paper off as you apply to get around the curves.
  8. Not quite answering your question - but I would advice against using the front USB ports for your cutter. It does not provide enough power. Once you get going, you'll have heaps of frustrations with cuts stopping in the middle, usb losing connectivity during your cut, etc.

ink and printer questions for heat transfer

If you're talking about inkjet printed transfers, yes. It's whatever colors your printer can print.

Are you applying one layer at a time onto the helmet? If so, try layering before applying. I haven't done any softball helmet - not sure how much curve is on it, but I found out through hundreds of skateboard/snowboard helmets that cast vinyl is the way to go.

    Newb Question for Vinyl

You may want to get an account with an actual sign supply store. If that's what you use, you're paying way too much (it should only be about 1/2 that price).
  12. If it's stopping at the exact same spot everytime, it looks like a memory issue. Either upgrade the memory or if you're using USB, get a keyspan adapter. If the design you're trying to cut is not too detailed, try speeding up the cutter speed, and decreasing the baud rate. This may help push data out of the cutter's memory faster. Good Luck!

    ecocut giving trouble

Make sure your cutter is properly grounded. Also, are you running from laptop or desktop? USB is not very reliable. If you're using desktop, DO NOT use the front USB ports. Or use an externally powered hub. You may also want to invest in keyspan. For cuts not completing, is it stopping in the middle or the endpoints aren't matching. If end points not matching, then you need to adjust your offset.

And since you're getting uneven cut, make sure your cutting strip is in good condition and installed evenly.

    Contour Cutting Plotter

Depends how many you're cutting. It is a manual process, and it get be a pita if you're doing a lot of them. But that is probably the most economical solution if budget is an issue.

    Contour Cutting Plotter

Search your local craigslist to see if you can find a good deal for a used Graphtec CE5000. The Graphtec offers auto registration for contour cutting. I bought mine used for $800.
  17. Make sure your cutter is properly grounded. Also try changing both baud rate on cutter and software to 4800 and if the design is not too detailed, try increasing the cut speed on the cutter.

    Renewed Topic for Dummy

First, did you remember to save your AI file in version 8 or older? If so, does it look normal when you pull it up on SignCut? And what does it do when you "play" it from the cut window? If it doesn't look like what it should cut, then it's your vectors.

    Epson 1100

Not sure if they make waterbased coated banners. Probably have to print on vinyl and apply to the banner.
  20. Static is the likely culprit. The plastic backing on easyweed generates a lot more static. Make sure your cutter is properly grounded. Search the forum if you don't know how. Also, consider getting a keyspan adapter or at least a dedicated USB card or external powered USB hub.
  21. What driver are you using in signcut?
  22. Could be memory or static. What connection are you using? Serial or USB?
