Sounds like a faulty power supply... Although I did have a computer come through the other day the customer told me the power supply was bad but when I plugged it in it was fine... Turns out SOMEHOW their cord went bad.... I have never seen or heard that but I set him up with a new cord and he is running again.

Even after getting the machine all setup properly you still may not be able to cut letters or words that small... That small of detail is usually best with a higher end cutter. Even though the CR is towards the top it is still considered an entry level cutter..(By towards the top I mean the top of the entry level category.) sounds like most of your issues are do to blade exposure and pressure.

Did you start here Start.uscutter.com ? Those machines aren't just ready to cut out of the box there is some time involved in setting them up. Sometimes you can spend a couple hours fine tuning your blade depth, pressure, and offset.

I thought about going with a tablet for the same thing but ended up buying a small netbook instead.... Got a GREAT deal on a display piece from Best Buy... I got a nice small case it goes in and it will run SB just fine.

There is a drop down in the save as window that allows you to chose a few different versions of AI just make sure it is 8 or older.

Yeah I looked at that also and the greenstar is much much more vivid and "neon" then that... My local supplier carries a Dalco Athletic transfer I am going to take a peak at that and see how it looks.

Those machines are VERY temperamental on a USB connection... What you will want to do it get yourself a Keyspan adapter which will convert the USB output from your computer into a usuable serial connection.

Does anyone have a nice clean cuttable cruise ship? I searched and found the 2 hear and didn't really care for them... I could vector one but this is for a Senior center party and I am not making any money on the shirts as I am doing this for the owner as kind of a favor... I need to do banners and shirts. It's a Caribbean cruise theme I have tons of different palm trees and what not but have nothing for a cruise ship. Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

Most of the time when you buy a new cutter it will come with the serial cable and USB... At least the 3 machines I bought have.

Most of the shows I have done I don't carry a lot of pre cut stuff with me. I had display boards that I used since it only takes a minute to cut something out and most of the time the customer wanted it customized anyhow.

I just learned about the step and repeat function in Flexi a few weeks ago... Really comes in handy on some designs.

Verify the carriage wheels are riding on the rail like they are supposed to be.

A metal blade will gouge and scratch the plastic if you aren't very very careful.. Any chemical you use to remove the adhesive try it on a small spot out of sight and see how it reacts.

Yes. what font is it? There are a lot of fonts out there with wavy edges? Could also be an issue with the font file or the cutter's interpretation of it..

+1 on the outline that is what I do with my Flexi if I want to thicken up fonts..

Agreed it's either catching on a lip or you have WAY TOO much down pressure...

Sounds like its not un grouping or splitting them... Try posting the .eps and I will take a look....

Make sure you are selecting the WHOLE image before you split it.. Once it is split you should be able to select individual sections... Which on that only appears to be 2 colors.... or sections... maybe 3 if it has a white layer and not just a cut through...
