hey all. Need a vector of a fat bulldog anybody got anything like this? prefer it a view from the front with the dog sitting but I'll take anything right now. thanks

I've been working on this for a local hunting club, and this is as far as I've got, I'd love to see what ya'll experts could do with it as far as cleaning it up and get some constructive criticism runningdogs.eps runningdogs.eps

I've been looking and haven't been able to find them either. My solution? I'm making a mold at work, then gonna cast my own. acrylic is relatively cheap and you can do a lot of keychains with a gallon of resin
-
make one that doesn't match any color, then cut it with each color, that way you know its in the same place every time

Pricing and application questions
cpwall replied to boomerbabe's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I'd be right there too, 25 RTA, another 20-25 to install. it really won't take just a few minutes, and if you're worried about messing it up, cut two of it just in case. If I have something simple like that and am doinga mobile install, I'll cut double, then give them a deal if they want the second one. -
what would be a good price

Pricing help please
cpwall replied to ravenlee's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
for that quantity I'd probably go $1 each for the 4 inch and $1.50 for the 8 inch. you could look at getting them printed (James does excellent work), sell them for that and put money in your pocket without having cut anything -

not quite understanding what you mean by this but if you'll send me the eps or an SB file I'll be glad to take a look at it for you -
yes you have to change the blade offset, this is what compensates for the blade not being centered in the holder. start out at .25 and adjust in .05 increments until your cuts are closing good.

there are several inkscape tutorials on this forum, just do a search and you'll find everything you need. that said, here's it all in a nutshell for auto-tracing 1: select object (Bitmap picture) 2:from the path menu up top, choose trace bitmap 3: by trying each option and tweeking the settings, use the update to get the best preview for your image. 4: hit ok, the new image will show up superimposed over hte old bitmap 5: select the bitmap and delete it 6: save the new image as a *.eps 7: a little node editing will get the image looking good and ready to cut!!!
-
hadn't thought about that, cool idea.

when you scan an image you have to convert it by tracing to make it a vector image. you can do this in SB by monochroming then vectorising, but you'll get much better results with Inkscape, and its free!

Received my 3rd cutter and still problems
cpwall replied to MaderDesign's topic in General discussion
your blade does look like its out a little far, if I look at mine like that I can't even see the blade hardly. course that doesn't explain the problem when plotting. like bannerjohn said, Ican't even make mine do that. -
Let's say I have $1,000 to buy a vinyl cutter
cpwall replied to sync57's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
if you have a grand for just the cutter, go with a copam for 7-800, they are professional grade but not quite all the bells and whistles of the graphtecs. If you don't want to spend that much, a refine is a good cutter for the price, mine has lasted very well and I work it every day -
Trouble Pricing
cpwall replied to MaderDesign's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
James had posted that he was going on vacation, but I don't remember the exact days. if he hasn't responded then that's why, normally he's on the ball with everything. -
I can honestly say I've learned most of what I know about the sign business from this forum.

are you looking for the solid acrylic keychains? can't help you find them, but if you do let us know. My friend just paid 14 bucks for one with her initial on it!?!? holy cow I gotta get me some of that.

try unplugging USB and plug it back in, if you are using USB that is. if you are using USB, try swapping cables with your printer too, the cables that come with it are kinda cheap and that could be your problem. IF not give us some more info on software, connection, etc., turn in a support ticket, and I'm sure you'll get the help you need.

That's an awesome find as well!!!

Whats your most used vinyl colors and size rolls? (651)
cpwall replied to American And Proud's topic in General discussion
I use red, black, white the most, after that probably pink, orange, blue, chrome, on down the line. I have a lot of colors I don't use much of that I buy 3-6 ft at a time from my supplier, and I can get anything overnite so I don't stress keeping a huge inventory. definitly get 13oz banners, even just for yourself the difference is night and day. I bought the 651 set with 10 colors from uscutter when I bought my cutter and a lot of it has been gone but there are a few colors I haven't even touched, like grey, yellow, and dark green. a lot has to do with your location too, local school colors are a definite. -
if your pressure is only set at 50 you need to try to back the blade in a bit and raise the pressure, try to get it cutting good with pressure closer to 100, that may help as well
-
what is your pressure setting now? on what machine? is the vinyl laying flat on the rollers or is it curling up in the middle, and the blade is dragging?

MH-721 cutter head will not drop
cpwall replied to SouthShoreDecal's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
tech support can give you a simple test with a 9-volt battery to check the carriage. mine did that and turned out to be the motherboard.
