  1. Is is common for heat transfers to crack after the first washing? I did a few t-shirts using HTW transfer paper, pigment ink, followed the instructions to a T, but when washed (by the instructions) the image looks cracked. Am I doing something wrong, or is this common?
  2. I changed my computer and can't find my sign blazer disc. Is there a place that still let's you download it?

    Help Please

I have a customer who needs the graphics redone on his semi. I took a picture of it and tried to use inkscape to vectorize it. Unfortunately the color contrast isn't good enough to get a good result. I got the font, but the raccoon tail and top of the B is where I'm having problems. It was origionally black with brushed aluminum and it lasted for almost a million miles! If someone can help, I'd be extremely greatful!

    loline?

The Sign Outlet Store has a cutter called Loline says it's the best tracking cutter 30' 40' no problem. Anyone worked with these? I'm looking because I think my MH871 is crapping out on me. It's $2000, but if it's that good!
  7. The cut vinyl business is doing great. Making signs and graphics. Now I'm looking to expand, but I don't know which direction to go. Do I go into the apparel and get a silk screen set-up, or a DTG printer? Or do I go with a wide format printer and do printed graphics? There are a few Silk Screen businesses around this small community. Only one business who does printed graphics. I would like to go into something that'll help in the four month of the year that's slow. Any suggestions? How do I research the demand in small rural communities? Ask the experts on US Cutter. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

I'm finding ones that are close, but the s throws me off. Do you think the creator of this card used a different font for the s?

I have a request for a teepee on t-shirts. I found extremely simple ones, but I would like something with a little more detail. In an EPS file please. Thanks in advance.

I think it'll work. Thank you very much!
  14. I got a call on my cell phone from a lady who works for a customer of mine. Right off the bat, she jumps my butt about a mis-spelling I did on their sign. I did their sign over 4 months ago. When I did it, I printed a proof for the owner to check everything, and he approved it. The lady said it's embarassing for them having it mis-spelled, which I understand completely. But 4 months? Why didn't they say something after it was done? The sign is 16' in the air, and had to rent scaffolding to install it. I decided to go ahead and correct it, but charge for fuel to get there. I'm adding on my invoices a notice that if any corrections need to be made, contact me within 60 days (30 if they sign the printed proof), after that time, the owner will be responsible for any corrections. I will have a talk to the customer to tell him that I deal with him only, and if he needs anything, he needs to call the shop number, NOT my personal cell phone! I feel like charging for the removal and installation, just because of the B**ching out that I got! What do you think?
  15. Does SB have spell check? I never noticed, if not, that would be a great addition!

This is a design I came up with for my T-shirt and Yellow Page Ad. (took about 20 minutes to design)
  19. I've been on this forum for quite a while now, and I see ppl comment and it shows a list of equipment they use. Where is that option? I would like to use this feature. Thanks!
  20. My boxes must be old. They are brown on the inside. Never heard anything from the postmaster. Now flat rate boxes I heard would get trouble going. If you're still leery about it, I've even gone to local grocery stores and asked for their old boxes. There's plenty of cardboard to make shipping containers/ envelopes for decals.
  21. I just started making heat transfers and I noticed when I apply it to a white shirt, everything has a yellow tint to it. What am I doing wrong?
  22. I usually keep the tubes from my vinyl (there's no writing on them). Roll the graphic up and tape the ends, and you're ready to ship. With the tubes being ridgid, there's no way they'll get crushed. Or even keep the boxes the vinyl comes in, You may have to wrap it to cover the lettering. On flat decals, take a priority mail box, cut the seam and turn it inside out but leave it flat. Tape the edges and it's good to go.(sometimes I put a piece of cardboard inside where the crease is to keep it ridgid)
