I'm trying to cut a design from I think windows 8 and the sign blazers elements can't initiate device? I went to download a driver and I can't find one for windows 8???

Hi :-) I haven't used my cutter in over a year... I have signblazer on my personal laptop and my shop desktop... I just tried to hook up my copam 4050 to my laptop to send a cut job and the laptop said that it didn't recognize the "new hardware" and to install the software??? I don't remember installing any software to either computers besides the signblazer elements 2008... So, I just saved the cut file to a flash drive and re-opened it through the desktop to cut... It worked ok with my numbers but for some reason my desktop didn't recognize the fonts??? as I tried to redo them on the desktop i found that the desktop was missing several fonts??? I'm assuming this is because maybe my laptop has updated to a newer version via internet connection??? My main question: Do I need to install a driver for my laptop to send prints to the cp-4050 cutter?

I need a machine to letter my race car! And possibly one that can cut out window film for automobiles! If I can afford one that can do vinyl wraps.... sure! Alot of people are printing and wrapping with single layer films??? I guess the most important thing is that I get a good product that will last a lifetime... Industrial like!!! But what sucks is i'm not rich!!! lol Please HELP!!! I'm going broke every year buying what alot of people can afford to do weekly. I think that having my own equipment will help me out in the long run!

Hi, My name is Jimmy Ngo! The "N" in my last name is silent... Jimmy Go! I just became a member to this forum hope'in I could get some help. I build and race circle track cars. I wish I could say that I buy and race them however I haven't been blessed with tons of money or sponsors! LOL What I hope to learn, gain and hopefully will be able to help others later is how to work with vinyl better! I've spent several hundred dollars in the last couple of years buying letters and numbers for my cars and it seems like everyweek they get rubbed off or something. Now, I wanna buy my own plotter... cutter so that way I can fix my car weekly if needed with less money but more time and labor. Most guys these days are going with vinyl wraps! They are too expensive but maybe if I owned my own equipment I could afford to have it on my car? I have always applied my own vinyl and I also use to tint windows in High School... So, I think with a little guidence I could be off and running. 1. What equipment should I buy... I'd like to be able to cut window film for automobiles and lettering for my race car! Remember, I'm a poor boy but want what's right! 2. where to buy?
