  1. PIXEL resolution way too high on my original attempts. When I lowered per your clip things started to happen - for the better i.e. I'll continue to work on this one but it looks like I am OK. Thanks
  2. I am doing a door design which incorporates a logo, basic rectangles and some text. I am happy with the door design but I need to send off a proof via EMAIL so I am trying to get a.jpeg created of the whole door. If I try to "export" as a .jpeg nothing happens unless I try and export only the TEXT portion. That is, when I select only the text protion - it appears to work. Do I need to weld or group or something else in order to export this completed file as a .jpeg??

    Lettering

HOLD ON - I'VE GOT IT. It takes a bit of reverse thinking but I did figure it out and now understand how the software works. I will experiment a bit more but I am now sure I can get it. Thanks for your understanding! T DUTCH

    Lettering

Please excuse my ignorance. I am not sure what will actually be cut when I send this to the cutter. I'll give it a try but am not sure of the actual process and what to weed? I will actually be cutting this twice right? I want to cut the entire background [black] and then cut only the orange - I guess that is possible but I just don't know the mechancis.

    Lettering

Yes essentially an outline but I would like one set of cut lettering of BLACK to say "OVHA" and then I would like to be able to cut another set in orange which would fit directly over the black essentially giving the orange [smaller set] a black background.

    Lettering

I need to make some lettering with a "SHADOWED " effect but all the way around. I would like to be able to type a word and then replicate and finally modify the text so that I can cut two sets of the same text on different colors and finally place the smaller of the two on top. The problem I have is a white canopy onto which I need to print orange vinyl lettering and I am sure it will not get the effect intended. Therefore, I would like to put black behind the orange to make it stand out.

    ALL CAPS in Font

I have noticed that when I am MS Word e.g. I can select small caps [or lower case caps] when formatting a font. Can I do this in SB? That is, can I make a string of text with all caps with the first letter of larger size? I need to make a curved arrangement of a three word group JOHN DEERE PLOW CO. where the J D P C are larger than the balance of the lettering but all are in caps. If I have to make individual letter text entries it looks like a nightmare effort.
  8. I'm a novice at this cutter and posted this message in the welcome area - just copied the text to this location. any help would be appreciated. Hi all. Dutch from Southern Indiana and very new to cutting. I purchased PC630? and could use some help gettting up and running. I restore old antique machinery and will hopefully use the PCUT to make custom relpications of old old stencil work. In some cases I even have to create new fonts. Am I in the right place? I have loaded drivers etc have have USB port COM4 assigned but cannot get the cutter to physically move. It says it is ON LINE and I create a simple text word in SB "SELECT" it, then use the ICON to CUT. It creates a "JOB" and stays on the job list for about 20-30 seconds then goes away. Cutter TEST works fine. I just put the pen in the PCUT and put a regular piece of paper in. Probably something simple but perhaps a bit beyoned me.

Would a good model be the PCUT? 24"

    Just Starting

I'm just getting started and will most likely be cutting simple colors and applying them to painted wood. What specific vinyl should I be looking for and how do i get actual samples. Which company has the best vinyl for this application? Are there more than one?

    WHERE TO BEGIN

Hi, I am thinking about buying a cutter to make lettering and designs for my hobby - restoring old antique farm implements. Typical panel areas are 8 x 20" or so. What I will need to do would be a combination of lettering and some simple graphics. The lettering typically involves modifications to standard fonts [using Font Creator]. There are very few if any overlapping colors or objects. I would need to use these modified TRUETYPE fonts as well as these simple graphics. Actually, I can create much of the artwork in the font creator software. There may be an occasion where I may need to scan a tracing in [vectorizing needed?] I would probably use this once every couple of weeks [if that often] as the bulk of the work will be in the preapration. Any thoughts on which cutter I should be looking at?
