    ctn630 problem

Thanks to Brandon at USC I got the 630 working. Apparently the serial port is bad on the cutter but we were able to get it going using the USB port. Put in a ticket yesterday morning and had it working last night. Great customer service. Oh yeah he was very patient with some of my stupid questions and lack of computer knowledge. :)
  2. Equipment-MH365, CTN630, SignBlazer (registered version) WinPC Pro, Flexi 8.5 starter When the 365 went down last week I figured I would hook up the CTN630. Bought this unit last year to get a good deal on Flexi software but never used it. All sorts of problems with Flexi, took over 3 weeks and several hours doing downloads and revising passwords, etc. Finally got it so it would work but was already frustrated with SAI so I never even tried to use software. Anyway, the 630 will not cut. SBE shows that it is transmitting to cutter but nothing happens. Played with 365 and got it working even better than it was. Tried everything again today, still nothing. Hooked up the 365 and cut like a charm. So that tells me that the output is leaving SBE but not hooking up with the 630. Cable has got to be good because I unplugged one and plugged into the other and it worked. Anyone got any ideas? checked all settings and they are the same for both, driver is listed as CTE630HPGL, we know the cable is good. Need help. Thanks in advance
  3. I don't know if this will help but when my MH365 was doing the same thing I took the cover off of my blade carrier and powered it up with the cover off. (3 screws) I had to put something in there so it would not hit the red button. (small screwdriver) It would work as long as the cover was off. On the inside of the cover was a small tit of plastic that I could not tell if it was hitting or not. Took a dremel tool and ground it off flat. When I put it back together I only used 2 screws (the 2 on the right side) When I looked into the holes to put the screws in one was off just a bit. I don't know if it was causing something to bind or if it was the tit I removed but (knock on wood) it has worked perfectly ever since. I'm actually using less pressure and getting better cuts. Hope this helps. John

    Anyone seen Ken?

Maybe that's the reason I haven't heard from US Cutter about my problem with my 630!

    ctn630 problem

Over 48 hours and nobody has even ventured a guess as what might be wrong. I must be the only one with a 630, except for ajj, post above mine, who hasn't received a reply either. Anyway I got bored waiting so I took it apart. On the motherboard is a 4 pin male plug, labeled J11 that has nothing in it. No jumpers. On every computer or printer I have taken apart there was some sort of jumper that could be arranged in different configuratios to make the device do different things. With this being on the bottom of the unit I think it might be possible that the jumper vibrated out in transit and got lost. On a couple of other threads I read where the customer was asked to check and see if the chip had vibrated out. Is there a unit in US Cutters warehouse that we could look and compare or can we get a wiring diagram? Looking to make this thing work.

    Add a cutter

Is there a way to add another cutter to SBE if it's not listed on the selection page? I guess it was the software that come with my MH365 and it lists all of the MH models, the Copam models and the CT630. I would like to add my SignMax to the software. Does anyone know what driver is used for the SignMax cutter? In WinPC it's listed as Redsail. Is there another driver that works the same? Thanks

    Another Newbie

    Greetings from the swamp.
  10. I have a MH365 cutter which has been very good up until now. When I turn it on the blade holder does not raise up. If I take the housing (black cover) off and then put it back on it will pick up but after a few seconds it drops back down. I was trying to cut a part yesterday and the frame around it cut great but the letters inside only scratched the outline and would not weed. This happened once before and it acts like the spring is not strong enougn to pick the head up. Its a great little machine but it probably doesn't have three hours of cutting time on it. I changed the cable, have tried it with both WinPCpro and SignBlazer. Trying to learn SBE since everyone is most famalier with it. The plug is properly grounded. don't know what else to try. Anybody got any ideas? Really need to get it going. Thanks

  24. Greetings from the swamps of south Georgia. I've been looking and trying to learn for some time now and finally decided that I should be more involved. (Actually you guys will find out that I have a bunch of questions headed your way.) Right now I have a MH365, use Winpcpro and trying to learn SBE and Inkscape. Let's see if we can get this gig up and running. Thanks
