    Help required

Maybe start a Advertising Campaign that Embraces the Flaw.... "FRED's Fine Foods" or somethingorother. Often, in Interior Decorating & Design, when there is an Obstacle (for instance, exposed Duct work) that you are unable to successfully Hide, you make it the Focal Point and it looks 'On Purpose'... perhaps even grow a Trademark around it. Put "Fred" elsewhere on the Truck & include it in Future Advertising & Promotions. Create a Mascot Character Named Fred & put his image on the Truck. Then there's always 'Do it the Right Way and just take it off there and put it on Correctly'.

    name or something similar please......

Milkman Conspiracy & Feast of Flesh are 2 okay 'Scratched' or 'Scratchy' type Fonts. Trick is to find ones where all the Glyph cutouts are open to the edge to cut down on the Weed-Pick work.

Suggestions for fonts for a boat name

Thanks, mb... Renaming suggestion ("Challeng-ER") came from turning the Original, Negative sounding, "Nautically Challenged", to a more Dynamic, Positive. Using the Root, Action word to Connect to the Clients' idea then Tailored the Result to Suit the Project (the Hook for a Boat), and Viola.... A Product you can get behind (Justify) and Sell.

  12. Both the following give you the overall principles for Punchout type work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEX_rL4TLXM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylid_WwJQCA ... and below show the basic Tools to complete the text Punchout you described. (with the Object Tool) Make sure to put your Text on Top of the Shape you wish to Punch Out. Select them Both and either Select either "Punchout" or the "Welding Tools" Flyout (if Available in the LTR version).

Need help how to do a job.

Piece O'cake to design that Graphic in Vm.... Also, be sure and Test your vinyl adhesion to the intended walls. Better to know ahead of time if there are any issues to study the Options. ie. Repaint the Walls or create a stencil to Paint the Graphic on the Walls, etc.

Need help how to do a job.

Adding (approx) 1 inch x 1 1/2 inch rectangular holes as per the original, inside of the existing, punched holes, would go a long ways toward visual realism, IMO. (However, plenty more work weeding!)

Need help how to do a job.

I took a couple of minutes and did a scale mock-up of what you propose. The existing holes on the edge of the roll vinyl are pretty small to pull off the film roll look. The attached image shows the 1/8 inch holes spaced a quarter inch from the edge with a half inch between them, measured from a roll of Oracal 651. The large squares are at the same (9x12 inch) size as the original.

    Frustrated

Sure, there's generally more than one way to skin a cat. You can type out your text and leave space where you wish to add a special letter or image, as I did with "MoonShine" in the previous examples. You can also break the word up into separate 'Words', like "Moon" & "hine" and make a separate "S", to manipulate it. Or "M" & "nShine" and put an image of eyes or skulls in between. Another thing I often do when working with text is keep a duplicate of the text I'm working with in 'Text' form. If, after converting it to Curves, I need to go back and do something differently, I have a previous 'back copy' sitting right off to the side. Most of this is pretty rudimentary stuff that you naturally pick up from working with Text over and over. Usually one method of doing something with have benefits over another, depending upon the desired results. Knowing the alternatives and choosing the correct technique comes with familiarity of the job and software.

    3D Text

Inkscape's a great program, especially for the price. Design's all I have used it for as it's Plotting abilities are still in infancy and best suited to the Computer 'Power User'. Did take a while to get used to Inscape's way, coming from an ADOBE background but, there's not much (Vectorwise) that it can't do with practice and experience. Still, Text is not it's strong suit so I went looking for additional Software. There is not much on the market that can compete with VinylMaster Pro for the price, though, IMO. Corel's good too, but, it's been a lotta years since I messed with it.

    3D Text

I debated a good while over the Ltr version as text Creation/ Manipulation was one of the main reasons I wanted Vm. Went with Pro for the extra Text Design Tools, the Font Manager, & the Extra, Free Fonts. Was one of the First on here to give the Software a shot and never looked back with a single regret.

Sure, Click on the the Object tool (circled in red on the left) and then select the text you wish to un-group. Click the Convert to Curves icon (circled on the right) or select it from the menu under Curves>Convert to Curves (Ctrl+Q) Next, Click the Un-Group Icon (circled at top of second image) or Arrange>Ungroup (Ctrl + U) Now (after Deselecting & Re-Selecting) you can select the letters individually and move around or delete, modify, etc. you can click and drag and re- group combinations of letters together to make the words easier to work with.

help needed with a jpg. ...

darkShadow is right in that there's no easy way... Desaturate and Contrast adjustments in Photoshop (or other raster based, photo editing Software) are a good starting point. From there, straight up Vectoring in 2 colors will yield a result but likely require lots of Post-Production Clean-up.

    3D Text

It's called a "Block Shadow" in Text Tools... may not be included in the Vm Cut version, definitely in the Pro version (and above). Works with both Text and Images. (edit: we must have been typing at nearly the same, ds)
