  1. After creating your Text with the Text Tool, Select the Object Pointer (A). Click the Lock (C) to unlock the Proportional Ratio and either insert your Size requirements in the Height / Width boxes (B) or Grab & Drag the Text Object itself. Setting these 2 Sizes should yield the correct Size at your Cutter providing it is set up Properly. The Read-outs in the D boxes are for the Typographical size of the Font set by the Typographer, and the Physical Size, the actual size of the Flush Capitals (T, H, L, etc). Here's a Video that covers most of these Basics.... They have a large collection that includes other Useful Text Videos HERE.

  3. In VinylMaster, you can add a Stroke to either Editable Text OR Text that has been Converted to Curves. ( any Object really ) After adding a Stroke with the 'Outline Module' Weld the Text to the Stroke together for added thickness. As far as Selecting just that Line of Text to add the Stroke to; Depends on whether its been Welded to other Objects or is still separate. Worst Case; You may have to Duplicate the Line and Thicken that one and Delete (Replace ) the Original with it.

What is the name of this font?

The Text was Colored White then a Black Line (Stroke) added to the Outer edges with the Outline Module in VinylMaster. To Warp the Text is to have the Software allow Grouped Modifications & Adjustments based on internal Node Position algorithms. (Easier to do than Explain.) An easy method to create the Warped Layout shown in your Example would be with the "Distortions" Module in VinylMaster LTR, PRO, or XPT. You can also Manipulate the Text or Objects Manually by moving the Nodes around. You can perform these Operations with other Software as well... What Software are you using?

  9. If you able to get the White areas Vectored in Vm its then easy to Select all the White areas and change them to Light Gray ( or another Color of your choice) otherwise, Before running the image through the Vector Engine, Change to White areas to Light Gray ( or another Color of your choice) in a Raster Program like Photoshop. Many Software Programs seem to 'Assume' the Color White is a Background unless told otherwise.
  10. I'd say the chief difference between any mouse and any pen can be summed up by signing your name on the computer with each of them and comparing those 2 samples to your signature written on a piece of paper. I've had a mouse in my hand for 30 years and cannot duplicate some of what I can do with a Pen and Tablet. The Freehand nature and Pressure Sensitivity of the Pen & Tablet are where it really excels. Truly, this comes into play more often in Raster Digital Graphics than Vector.
  11. Yes, you can Freehand Draw, directly in Vector with a Pen & Tablet and VinylMaster. I've been working with the same Wacom 6x9 Intous for over 10 years now and, whether using it for Raster or Vector Projects (like any Tool) has become increasingly useful with my proficiency with it. Admittedly, with Node manipulation in Vector Programs, there is little difference in my Speed between a Pen and a Mouse. But, with Freehand Line or Brush work, in either Raster OR Vector images, a mouse is a poor substitute for the 'Pen-in-Hand' Feel, Freedom and Speed the Tablet offers. It also opens HUGE doors for Raster Brush work in Photoshop - Like Programs.
  12. You can Swap the Cutter Orientation in the Vinyl Spooler...
  13. Yes, in the CutFile Manager, you can edit both the Width and Length of the Vinyl tiles and add Overlap at those points. In the Attachment the Circle is 48 inches with a .5 inch Overlap along it's Width and Length. (Pro Version shown)

The Short Answer? "No" . As far as I know, there's not a Flat Phone App that will run a Cutter (Plotter). Now, You can (as mentioned) take a picture with your phone then Convert it from Pixel Based Image to a Vector Based Image with Computer Software Like Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, or Corel then output it through Cutting Software under Windows or Mac OS and cut it on a Vinyl Plotter but, not directly from Phone to Cutter, as you mentioned.

Thanks CarDude & Shane... Appreciate the info. I was thinking about an Update but don't want to upset a working setup with unnecessary problems. (I'm about 25 miles south of Richmond, Va.) Thanks again

Shane, was your Vm Pro the US Cutter version or Full version? I'm generally in the "If it Ain't Broke, Don't Fix it" Camp with Haumana but, curious as my Full Pro Version 4.0 is from 4/2014. What was your Version, cardudenc ?

Believe you'rere right, Mike.... seems the 'LTR' Version of VinylMaster does not include the Tile Bleed (Overlap) Tools.

    Cutting in sections

Working from Vm Pro here but I believe its the same for Letter... Select your overwide object to cut (Menu dropdown) > Send to Cutfile> (Select Tab 'Current Page' OR' Selected Items' then >Send ReSelect your object > Edit> Overlap ( Enter a Value... .125 to .250 inch works well) OK > Apply Click "Cut Page" on Menu Bar and a Cut Current Page Module should open that allows you to select which of the Tiles you wish to cut.

  20. Re-Save your Original image in a Bitmap Program like Photoshop or Gimp as a .jpg with a slightly larger background so that the Black in your Example Image does not touch the outside edges of the Background. Alternately, you could remove the white background in a bitmap Program and save as a .png with a TRANSPARENT background and Trace in VinylMaster.. Then, Vector Trace.

    What vinyl for boats?

I've had excellent results with Orafol 751 and 951 on Marine installations. They're both Cast Vinyls with the exact same adhesive. The 951 is rated @ 8-10 years and the 751 @ 7 - 8 years, depending upon color and sheen.
  22. Yes, Dakota, that is how the 'Drop Shadow' function in Vm works. As far as not having the 2 layers over top of one another; Ungroup the 2 layers (grouped by Default when Created with the Drop Shadow Module) And Punch them out. (Not sure if the Cut Version has all these Features.

I also had problems with it crashing with large files on my laptop but it's been smooth sailing on this i7 Desktop with 16 gigs of ram.
