    SC. long straight cuts

I've had luck using Sure Cuts a lot software and getting long straight lines, with the SC speed set at 100mm/S at 100g pressure. Good to make sure that your clamping pressure on the feeder is sufficient as well. With mentioned, I was successful in cutting a design with 3 quarter inch pinstripes coming off of it at both sides for a total overall length of 96". This did take about 30-40 minutes to cut however, so if give yourself time it will do it.

    Sooper Sign Hanger Clips

Does anyone have a good source for the sooper hangers? Preferably in 3/4" like in the image below... Is there another name for these and I'm just not finding them? Seems like a lot of places are wholesale companies that I find and I'm not looking to buy 100+ of them; more like 4. Thank you in advance for any guidance!

I have been through pages (PAGES) of fonts on both 1001fonts and abstractfonts with not a luck. Thinking this may be a bit more custom but thought I'd give yee USCutter pros a good ol go at it! Looking to find out what font Sterling is written in. The customer wants to add another line to their expanding company name. Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide! .:eMETAL:.

Tweaked the top of the E (slanted at same angle as the S) and client is stoked!

Damn dude! You rock! Seriously... wow. I was just getting around to vetorizing this tonight and had it all done minus the E and back shadow, and decided to check the forum to see if there were any updates.

Thanks I think it's off to the tracing board as I need to add the word Elite underneath. I should be able to trace and then break it apart, rearrange and then just create the E from the S. Thank you again for everyone's replies.

  9. Been reading and reading and trying watch some of the vids but unfortunately they no longer are valid urls. Can anyone help me vectorize my father's shop logo? I had a sign shop make me the main sign for his shop but now I have purchased a cutter to start doing some stuff on the side and have had ok luck with everything but this it's just not coming out clean for me... appears to have tons of layers? Any help is greatly appreciated, trying to be a sponge here and read before adding clutter to the threads.
  10. Just had an inquiry to price out a 10x7 foot storefront window. The design will take up most of the window. I will compile the entire design into two cuts totaling 9 feet in length on a 30" roll. Any idea on pricing for this? I want to make sure I am competitive with the local big boys who everyone goes to. This business owner wants me to have the business so I want to treat him right. Thanks for your assistance!

    Vinyl Printing Job

Interesting and good to know. I'm just not about to cut this out in transparent vinyl as its a 16 color logo and I knowitI won't be cost efficient to do it versus printing.

    Sketch

Inkscape doesn't like this on my mac and keeps freezing. Any help cleaning this up this sketch into a vector image for me? Customer is looking to have the durango filled in silver, magnum in red, and porche in blue with black outlines and character marks.

    Sketch

dude thank you.. this is a HUGE step forward. I know what you mean, this has actually gone from a copyrighted cartoon magnum for me to recreate to him drawing (tracing) this out today. Ultimately this will be a repair shop sign with lettering. 4'x6' large double sided.

    pricing help

So I received a job to letter a few local contruction trucks. Simple lettering for the hood and each door of 2 new trucks. Total of 2 hoods and 4 doors. hoods measure 39" long by 4.5" high doors measure 24" long by 11" high I will have to buy some Oracal Gold Ultraleaf Cast vinyl which will run me about $136.99 here @USCutter as that is the material I have determined to have been used previously. Here's what I get to recreate... I have nailed the font down to "commercial becker script" but also can't for the life of me find the ampersand used (may have to create it myself). Just starting out and with many the fear of insulting someone with a high price is of concern; also I don't want to be shooting myself in the foot. I know I'll need to charge out for vinyl, setup fee, and labor but have no idea what to really quote. So what says the great forum of USCutter? THANK YOU FOR ANY GUIDANCE!

The font is definitely Commercial Becker Script. Its a craptastic font to work with as the cursives don't truly connect so I had to edit the nodes and weld the letters. No biggie. But the ampersand is beyond me in finding. I actually used Exmouth font's ampersand which I feel matches his logo better. For the hood I have shortened the tail up a bit.

    pricing help

I have the samples watermarked with my image all over them if he want's me to send them to him Looks like he will install them himself. So I'm thinking about just saying $350. edit: he took the self install price of $350. Did I shoot myself in the foot?, maybe... but I'll make a little out of it and have a little of that vinyl on hand now to work with in the future. He's already got 1 truck that's peeling badly so I'm sure he'll be back for more.

    pricing help

yeah I'll have to build my own table like I said as I stand 6'8" tall. No normal table will do for me for this type of work. Plan to clear a spot in my garage for now just for the weeding and transfers. My office can setup and breakdown very quickly with the cutter goin into it's own little corner and closet along with the vinyl.

I can see already that space is a great factor in this line of business. Already looking at building a table for weeding, transfers, and small applications.

This being a side business for me (well hobby at first and we'll see where it developes) I work my normal job as a Hotel General Manager. Been in hospitality for 13 years now and for the last 5-6 I've thought about signwork. Finally pulled the trigger on plotter/cutter and am having fun with it. About to buy Adobe CS6 cloud as that's quite the bundle deal IMO! I just can't get the hang of GIMP and Inkscape as I'm use to Adobe and the eps formatting more which is a great help seeing as nothing on my Mac reads eps.
