Small problem with MH721
leefree replied to leefree's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Ah ok. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks for the tip. -
Today I did some lettering and I noticed that on the vinyl graphics that I cut there are lines through the graphics. The lines aren't cut deep enough though so thats a good thing. The lines on the graphics match those to the ones displayed on the computer when you are in cut mode in Sign Blazer. The plotter is connected to the computer via serial port. I'm just wondering if any of you guys have had something similar?

What I do is snap pictures of the areas on the car that need to be lettered. Get measurements and bring the photos into the sign program. and scale them up according to the measurements that you took. Then do your designs and position them on the images and print them out in color or black and white. That gives the customer an idea of what it would look like on there and if they want to make changes then they can do so.

When I used to work for a sign company, my boss had a pricing sheet that went along the lines of how big the lettering was. So say you needed to cut a sticker that says "Hello" that is 4 inch lettering. You would look at the sheet and you get the price for 4 inch lettering and just multiply it by how many letters are in the word hello and you got your price for that sticker. I've been trying to find that kind of pricing sheet all over online but to no avail.

If you end up applying the graphic using application fluid, make sure you squeege it down real good. If the graphic starts to pull up as you remove the masking, just lay it back down and spray down the mask using application fluid. Once its soaked, squeege squeege squeege. Wait maybe, a minute or so and then try and peel off the mask. Start either left or right and pull down diagonally slowly. Hope this helps.

Was wondering if anyone has a vinyl job pricing sheet that we could use to price jobs? EDIT: Can someone move this to the appropriate section? I posted this in the wrong section. Thank you.

Well I finally had time to get my sticker done, plus the weather is nice for right now so I went ahead and cut my sticker out and stuck it on my rear window. Have a look: Car Window I took a picture of the shirt and brought it in to Casmate Pro and traced it out and got rid of all the other stuff outside of the star and cleaned it up before I went ahead and cut it out on the plotter. I would say that the image took about 2 hours to do becauseI didn't vectorize it. I had some problems vectorizing so I just went ahead and traced it. This brings back memories.

Yes it turned out real good and the 721's are simply amazing for the price. Yeah I'll agree to that. I was finding these plotters on eBay. I kinda want a 12 inch plotter in my room lol
