  1. My copam 2500 has not been running.  As soon as I power it up it continually turns off and then on. At first the carriage tried to move further to the right as it comes on and then it shuts off to start up and do it again. But now it just continually flashes off and on while making a soft knocking noise.  I have a video of what it is doing.  Is there any way to load it here? We spent time troubleshooting it a few months back and did replace the carriage and it didn't change anything.  I see mother boards for copam cutters are half off now, so thought it would be a good time to try and fix it.  I suppose it could be the power supply also.  If we order both parts and one fixes it can we return the other part?  Any help or suggestions are appreciated!  I have a video also, but not sure how to download it on the forum.

    THANKS!

  2. My copam 2500 has been turning off and on.  As soon as I power it up it automatically (at about 1-2 second intervals) continually goes off and then on, and the carriage tries to move further to the right as it comes on and then it shuts off to start up and do it again.  We have replaced the carriage and it didn't change anything.  Do we need a new motherboard?  I thought it was a communication error with the computer, but it does it regardless of whether or not it's hooked up to the computer.  Any help would be appreciated!!!!

  3. My copam cutter is doing a similar thing.  I think it has to do with the pressure. It makes a knocking noise when the carriage brings down the blade, which it has never done before. I tried plotting with a pen and it worked great and made no noise. It also won't cut at all unless it is on the lower pressure settings, which makes no sense at all.  When I put it on the lowest pressure it will cut, but it skips spots in letters, like it doesn't completely come back to cut where it started (that's plain as mud )  When I up the pressure it starts out great, but after cutting a bit it is only barely marking the vinyl. Checked the cutting strip and it has no cuts. So, not sure what to replace.... the mother board, the carriage, the blade holder??? Any suggestions or has anyone else dealt with this?

  5. I think you are right.  I wish it were that easy of a fix! 6. I am having trouble with uneven cutting using my Copam cutter.  I am thinking it may be the cutting strip, as I have never replaced mine.  Now for the stupid question....do I have to buy the actual part for the copam 2500 or are there "generic" cutting strips?  I just don't want to spend $20 plus shipping and handling in case it is not the problem.  I have read also where you can test it by using a pen???  Anyone know how to do that?  Also I read where you can use reflective vinyl to replace your cutting strip? Know anything about that???

    Thanks in advance!!!!

  7. I am looking for a product to use to make reusable stencils that can be cut with my vinyl cutter.  I have looked into the oramask and greenstar 7000/7010 paint mask vinyl.  I am making signs out of mostly wood and would use the stencils to paint using spray or acrylic paints.  I use vinyl scraps all the time to make stencils for this purpose, but they are not reusable.  I see in the greenstar products that one has adhesive backing and the other doesn't.  Not sure which would work better, but if it is reusable can it be washed after use?  Any suggestions?
