Ok So I now have my first Summa. Let me say the quality is terrific. This is an oldie- a Summacut D620. Doing basic shapes everything is really nice. BUT! its not completing the cuts. I think its a COM issue or Cable issue. I have Cutter control open- playing with parameters. Software Flexi- but will try signblazer... The Pictures show the following: 1. Circle not complete- the blade intentionally skips the rest of circle. 2. word TEST- The first T is not complete- it has done this five times in a row. If Anyone has seen this before- let me know how you fixed it. Many Thanks in Advance!

I really like my spiderco knife- cant remember the version. Had a work associate in town last year- and took him to their HQ here in Golden Colorado. You can also buy knives in their showroom - lots of specialty memorabilia Military- Police, 9-11, etc,

What are my options for full color vinyl prints?
Jburns replied to Doliz's topic in General discussion
for 8.5 x 11 inch size decals, printed on an inkjet ---- I would try something like papilio paper. but understand that these would not be as strong or permanent as other methods. next, if you want to contour cut them - your software for the cutter would also have to read crop marks, -- its a learning process in itself. for wide format - you have latex, and eco-solvent and others- you can do a search on those terms for threads. -
THAT my friend is a clean sandblast job. Looks great.

welcome back!

welcome from Colorado! 651 is a good basic vinyl - I would recommend: 1. Black, Red and White 2, a pack of squeeges 3. Rtape 4075- pretty dependable paper transfer tape for application to flat and smooth surfaces. 4. an exacto knife with a dulled blade for weeding- 5. an envelope style opener for cutting off the cut job from the cutter....

Do they want gold leaf, or gold engine turn? I also would recommend the real stuff- expensive but will last outdoors. I think some have laminated, but true gold should resist fading - check with manufacturer.

laser point 2 cutting accross decal
Jburns replied to gs_rick's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Was your orientation proper for the printed item? I have made the mistake of placing printed items upside down for files before - even after its cut- try flipping 180 degrees- and cut again- the print will be lost, but you can verify orientation. -
It would be best to choose laser etched, rotary engraved or cast. Sounds like customer wants more of a monument item, proper fasteners etc. https://www.geminisignproducts.com/en/plaques/plaques/etched--engraved/

laser point 2 cutting accross decal

99% sure its a memory issue--Your simple files had no issues.. that file in gold you are sending is HUGE in data points for that cutter -- I assume you are running USB connection? If so-- its dumping the entire design into the memory - or trying to. The serial port, using a Keyspan adaptor ( sold by UScutter) will have bi-directional communication -- it will only load enough information that the cutter can hold - then send the remaining - They take a while to setup, but are invaluable for this type of cutter. I speak from experience - ran a PCUT. -
unfortunately no--- I dont know of a way to "batch convert". I usually just pull from SB and convert as needed.

Best way to remove Schein diamondplate decals from pickup truck
Jburns replied to dave_dj1's topic in General discussion
I have read that some really like using a wall paper steamer. My father in law is looking for one to take the aged clear film off his 911- will keep the group updated. -
For SB, I select the image, right click - and then click the rotate button. Then right click again, and play with the rotation angles.

So i bought this cool little foil printer along with a 14 x 16 Swing Away Geo knight heat press. Impress Force 10. It can place gold, silver and other colors directly on plastic, leather, vinyl, coasters, keychains etc. It runs as a basic printer, with Windows Word or Corel. The principle is the same as a thermal vinyl printer. The picture is a test print on Acrylic.

Can you apply that vinyl with wet application? I would apply one 30 inch section at the top. then -'butt' up and slide the second section on the bottom. This would leave a seam, but should make a really clean joint if using factory edges of vinyl. Then trim excess.

I thought this thread could use some new content Here are some engravers I purchased at auction recently. They are Signature Engravers 8080 series. They do pretty great work - glass - stainless plastic. Clean lines without the requirements / hazards of laser systems. Large one is for sale- and will be selling one smaller one. PM me if interested. ( last pic is from manufacturer).
