Been cutting vinyl for 7 years-i have always been able to solve blade problems, strip and carriage issues.... BUT This is on my Roland GX-24. It has: 1, Brand new blade. (As I type this - I tried 3 other blades- same result.) 2. Brand new cutting strip. On some lines, I am getting either a "Wavy" motion, or skipping motion. I am leaning towards a Blade holder- It has more play in the bearing than my Graphtec or Gerber has...

Bright dude.

they will get better. He didn't give you an easy photo to start with.

What do you all think is the problem?

Ok,.How did this happen.... at this time -- I know own SIX Vinyl cutters.... 1. FC7000-10 ( pending sale tomorrow) 2. FC4100-75 ( putting up for sale tonight- owned for 72 hours- cuts PERFECT and quieter than my Roland). heavy duty... 3. GS15 - great tangental cutter- will be great for laminated decals 4. HS15 - ( putting up for sale next week - with a gerber edge printer - which - I now have THREE of). sheesh 5, Envision 375- (the FC4100 above came with this cutter 72 hours ago. (plan to use this thing for the prints). 6. Roland GX-24- Bought because I was selling the FC7000-100 to cut 24 inch material... Sheesh. I do enjoy tinkering with them

Recommended Blades for CE6000-60

I love cleancut blades. -
will do.
-
So you want the whole image or just the rack as a cuttable file?
-
Brought it home, cleaned up and was testing. Wife walks in and says: "Hmm...looks nicer than your old small cutter". No questions on performance, speed, etc. :) My old cutter was a Pcut.
-
Can you post a pic of results? If your test is cut from the cutter- not the menu and its messed up--- its mechanical. Check blade depth, not too much, blade secured in holder, with cutter off, check carriage for slop left- right up down- should be little to none. Take out blade holder see if blade spins freely without slop.... Check pinch rollers- set the same and vinyl is secure, ...

I would ask for a sample and see how it goes

I think you are right - a cutting mat would be needed if you are cutting thru and should work on the graphtec.-- perhaps if you keep the foam inside the rollers? and the pinch wheels on the cutting mat that could work out cool. but for the depth- the Blade Holder : CB15N- that uses the 1.5mm diameter blade might work better.

Here is a link to my family members website- showing the laser systems. if you are interested in receiving a quote- let me know. http://nvlasercut.com/ -
I would say that a Flatbed cutter with vacuum hold down would be best for that. ex Graphtec FC4500 seres.

I have a family member who has an engineering shop, with a 400K laser system- ( cant recall the name) but it is very fast and can cut very small details on large projects. Its the size of a small shipping container PM me if you would like contact information if you want to sub out -
I used Adobe Illustrator CS6 for tracing- removed background in photoshop with magic wand.

version 2 scissors cropped Trace ver 2.eps

Here, you can try these files- I edited out grey colors in photoshop- and traced in Illustrator- saved as Version 8. It will need manual node editing / smoothing. Its saved as two colors -version 2 should have the white removed- but they both still may have a mask. scissors cropped Trace ver 1.eps

I think these are for embroidery? (digitizing) Perhaps that is why they looked threaded- or stitched.

If the machine came with a pen holder, you can flip the vinyl over, and see if it will plot on the paper side of backing sheet correctly.
