That is communication settings issue thru your serial port. Mine did that when comm settings were different between the cutter and computer. Check baud rate, bit parity, X on Xoff settings in your computer, and also in device manager properties. be sure parameters match- also check what the FC5100 settings are on its menu-- it may take soem time and tests- just try and plot a circle while testing.

LOL!!! That is awesome.

Absolutely- i recomend it. Just leave slack above ao the cord isnt tugging.

Flexi 10 Roland GX300 cutting issue
Jburns replied to performancetint's topic in Roland Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Flexi above should Rotate for you. On the machnie-- - from the GX300 user manual: Coordinate Rotation Settings This rotates the cutting coordinates by 90 degrees. The default setting is at [0deg], and the origin point is set at the lower left of the material. Setting this to [90deg] set the origin point at the lower right of the material and rotates the text (or graphics) by 90 degrees. * Note that the coordinate axes change when rotated. Make the settings to match the program you're using. When this is set to [90deg] on the operation panel, then the CAMM-1 driver's [Rotate] setting must be set to [Rotate off]. -
You need a printer that can print white pigment. Most printers the media is white. Not sure about the ink transfer- I assume for garments? someone else can chime in.

Graphtec's Brass Tipped Blue Topped Blade Holder. Is There A Difference?
Jburns replied to storm2313's topic in Competitor Cutter Help
I did this with Graphtec Blue blade holder. 60 Deg cleancut blade, very slow- Oracal 751 ( FC7000) -
Wow- two years seems pretty good for a material in that environment. i think its a really thin material - almost like a foil of some sort.

Graphtec's Brass Tipped Blue Topped Blade Holder. Is There A Difference?
Jburns replied to storm2313's topic in Competitor Cutter Help
I have liked my Blue top blade holders- they do have a brass ring. Aside from the servo motors- the blade holder tolerances are very important. My vote would be to buy the authentic one. -
I have had trouble with consistency of material with clear transfer tape- I have used AT60 and AT65- The AT 60 sits in the corner - maybe a bad roll. I have been using Rtape 4075 for seven years - never had a problem. For curling- try masking - squeegee firmly, then cut. an inch or to inside from the edge. that may help.

It's the first sign you see off I 25 - northern border. I saw it a month ago. Took pic on this trip

The Land of Enchantment---- but no tape measures or bubble levels... I took this picture on Tuesday on a drive to New Mexico for work :) (also shared on another forum). This sign is huge.

After hours of messing with com settings, oiling the solenoid shafts, checking blades- all the stuff. I googled " Summa Blade Incomplete cut" I came up in the archives of S101.com- 2007: http://www.signs101.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-6483.html Turns out a TINY little foam pad bump stop wears out, forms a donut hole, then the screw catches it, and it keeps the blade fro dropping on the first CUT!!!! Here are some pics, along with my fix- I used a soft side of a velcro set- its quiet, and cuts perfect. unbelievable.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I FIXED IT.

Thanks Goose- boy you aren't kidding- it really is in a class by itself- even my basic older version. And i have owned Graphtecs, Rolands, etc. I bought a Gerber Edge Printer, HS15 plotter, Omega software and this cutter came with it- for a very low price two weeks ago. I look at it as I got the cutter for free. !! Tech support said there are wires that are re-configured in the cable.
-
called Summa- I think I need a Summa cable. Ordered one and will post results.

Considering purchasing a portable vinyl cutter
Jburns replied to crgtfnknr's topic in Pre-sale questions
Yep- those are Gerbers- HS15, GS15, GSX plus-- they still make GSX and envision series, and are great for doing printed decals, sanddlast etc. They are built like TANKS... thats why they are usually so expensive. but you can pick them up used on ebay-- I am working on one this week (HS15). Oracal offers about every vinyl for this machine in 15" punched. -

What Mark S said. Perfect tracking- ive owned four of them - lightest is the GS15 or GS15plus They take punched vinyl -
I dont own VM, but double check your software-- on the section where you select speed- see if you can de-select it. A check box, or other option... -- I do this for Flexi and Omega- this allows the cutter speed to be used.

Did you download the driver? This site may help support.uscutter.com Also - that cutter works best with the keyspan to USB adaptor- the RS-232 port is more reliable. ( tripplite 19HS)

Clean cut blades--which one??
Jburns replied to AmericanWarriorDecals's topic in TITAN 2 Series Vinyl Cutter Discussions
Looks like Titan has multiple blade holders- Gold- purple, silver...that's not fun. If its dragging the blade- it may be the holder- my machine doing the same thing- replacement holder in the mail- we'll see... -

If the blade you need is on the LEFT- that looks like a ROLAND style blade. Now the Roland blades are a smaller diameter, but I don't think the CC blades have the shoulder like the original. EDIT: I see the description- you probably need the BASIC Roland or Small Roland- -this one fits my GX-24, and PCUT I had. -
playin around on a rainy day, decorating the office.
