    Flexi 8.1 and Copam 2500

Yep, I have set it up several times and using different drivers that people have said worked. But I just found a US Cutter driver on US Cutters website for flexi. So the issue has to be with the port I am selecting. I have tried every USB port listed and it just doesnt want to work.

    Inkscape eps to Flexi

Do you know if there is a way to import an inkscape eps with effects into flexi? I am able to import other eps but whenever I try and import a text file it doesnt show up. It will show the box, but not the text. Almost like its hidden.

Ok well then in that case, how can you create a blur like in inkscape and trasfer to flexi? I have flexi but no adobe filters for effects? Where can I get the filters?

  12. How do you keep up with all the sign companies cutting prices over, and over, and over agian? In my town full color printed banners are going for $4 a SF. I charge that for a 1 color cut vinyl banner. Been selling now for 3.50 a sf but I just dont understand how they can do it so cheap. I pay 5 a sf wholesale on a full color banner. Its just a little frustrating.....

Yeah that and flea markets, ive heard a lot of good about those. People get what they want and they pay for it because they can have it right then and there.
  14. Im trying and its hard. lol Even Fast Signs in my area sells full color for 4.50 a sf. That pricing screws everything up. I dont have a printer, havent really needed one but every job I price with full color I dont get because they can go to fast signs and get it for half the price. Those places sell quantity, not quality, but really the consumer doesnt care as long as they get the best price. I have a customer now, shoping prices on 32 SF of RTA, We are talking about $100 bucks, but I bet my price gets beat. ha ha Well it makes me feel a little better to vent and I still have customers that are faithful to me but its hard getting new customers with all the other cutthroats in town.

Thats what I tell myself everyday as I do these jobs for less and less. lol I still make some money but wow, like I said an honest sign business that I buy wholesale from charges more for wholesale than the sign shop on the other side of town.....its just crazy.
  17. If I were to use the sign expert for pricing, I wouldnt get any job. That may just be my area. They price 1 color 1 sided banners at 7.50 SF....2 sided 1 color coro signs at 37.50......im in the wrong town in someone can get that much.....i get 3.50 maybe 4 a sf for banners, 20-25 for coro. Its frustrating around here because everyones prices are low. I can go down the street to another signshop and buy a printed banner for 4 bucks a sf. Who sells it that cheap, I mean its rediculous!!!! People like this somehow manage to stay in business. I am not sure how. Wow, just wanted to vent a little. Thanks to everyone who reads. lol
  18. I have gotten about 4 of those over the last month. I wonder if anyone ever really falls for that. "I ned bannr for church plese" if you cant spell Im not gonna deal with you anyway. ha ha

Any Input on mouting this, im thinking I need to attach 2x's to the building first and attach the sign to the 2x's. I will be using 6mm Econolite. Need more info just let me know. Any help would be great. I want this job but want to know what im in for on mounting so I can price it right. Thanks in advance.

    Bday banner question!

I charge $5.00 sf here but with the extra colors I would be around $6.
  22. I got a tip from a buddy at the sign shop where I get my wholesale printing: On small weeding projects, get the big stuff out first, then put your transfer tape on and peel the backing off, then weed all the small stuff out. The backing doesnt stick very well and the transfer tape does. Helps to not pull everything else out with the small stuff.
  23. James is that what you would charge for printed laminated and contour cut?
  24. You could always just put Vehicle Lettering, Wall Art and then just put something generic like promotional products. Even if people call wanting something you cant do, well.....they are still calling. Then let them know what you can do. Keep it basic, people dont want to have to spend 5 min trying to read lettering on a vehicle. There is a Ford Explorer around my town that does signs, ive seen them 5 times and still havent finished reading all the lettering. LoL

    how to do

You could just cut it in two sections. 15" each and that would make it a little easier to intstall and get strait. All I can say is measure, measure, measure and measure again before you apply. You dont make money when you have to redo something.
