On the truck forum, every time someone asks a question, people reply "Did you search?" And i reply back, "Yeah i searched, and i found a ton of threads, all telling me to search."
-
Might as well shut down the forum and just have one page that says "Looking for something....search the net!" lol.

Lol. I just use the term cuz its simple for the customer to understand... Its about the end product, not the actual process. -

Thats what i said....lol. It uses a sharp metal device to cut out the design. lol. -
Nope don't do it full time yet, maybe in a few more years. I started my business just doing decals. Then it spread to shirts and htv apparel and hats. Then it went to etching. And then Dye Sublimation. I accumulated so much stuff, i had no more room in my house...and the wife wants a baby, so i had to invest in a small store front. I'm only open a few hours monday-thursday, then all day fridays and weekends, as i have a 2nd shift fulltime job, 2-1230 M-Thurs. So with limited hours, its hard to grow my business..but its growing slowly. A few walk-in customers a week, and a few big orders now and then...barely affording to keep the place open, but thankfully my fulltime job helps with that. Eventually when the wife and i find a larger house, i may move my business back home..

Well if u want to get technical....our plotter/cutter is really just a new technological version of that die cutter.... Both CUT the design out... The die cutter you show has one metal die per design, while our computer stores our designs to send to the plotter to cut. I mean this is Mail vs Email...both contain a letter/text/images, being sent from a sender to the recipient. The delivery goes from an actual person delivering to an electronic program via the internet delivering it. -
Ok guys, ive had my ce5000-60 for almost 3 years now, and haven't had the need to use the contour cutting feature. I have a customer that wants a printed image heat transferred onto their garments. I have a subli-patch from coastalbusiness.com and will be printing my image using my dye sub printer, and then need to cut around the image. I have the Graphtec Cutting Plotter controller, and Adobe illustrator with the Cutting Master 2 plugin. I also have signblazer, not sure if i can contour cut in that or not. Do you know of any good youtube videos on how to do this? Thanks

Soliciting other local businesses?
gcextreme posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
How do u go about soliciting other local businesses for projects? I have walked around town, a few blocks, and i have seen numerous businesses with paper and black marker lettering taped to their windows...when they should use professional vinyl..etc. Theres a salon, a babershop, a metal working shop, a clothes store, and even a tax accountant office. -
Not having a sign, is just stupid. On the bright side, maybe OWJones can take over their spot lol

Opening up a shop is no guarantee for traffic, very true...but sometimes neither is spending $$$ for expensive advertising that still doesn't bring in customers. I opened up my store june 1st this year, i have spent over $600 for advertising between the newspaper and radio....and now at the end of October, 99% of my customers are word of mouth, drive bys, and from facebook. I hope i can survive 2 years, but at this rate I won't, and its not that i cant afford advertising, its just that the advertising, paper and radio, doesn't seem to work.

I have this vectorized logo, i need it simplified into less colors. I want it red, blue, pink, purple, and white. Its really close, but needs alot of cleanup and i dont have a clue what font is used. My end goal is to have this really nice and clean for cutting solid color vinyls, htv and window 651 vinyl. I can paypal someone for their services/help. Glenn C. 1024x768_Smooth 107.eps

Tried that, the thickest it will let me go is .04 in. I dont know what i am doing wrong. Also when it goes to the cutting master, the design it turned 90 degrees...from where it was in adobe illustrator...i cant figure out how to change that. -

Thanks, ive been watching a few videos, and i keep getting an 1102 registration mark failure... i printed my design on a regular sheet of paper, i have it taped to some old vinyl wax paper backing, and i have the head in the box for the margins...it goes to read it, then gives me the failure. -
Ok awesome, thanks guys... i got it. I appreciate it.

I am looking for dye sublimation magnets.. need large ones for vehicle doors (12"x24"), and small ones for like refrigerators (2"x3") BUT I need the flexible ones, not the hard aluminum ones u stick the little magnet to. I have some of the large 12x24 vehicle magnets, flexible, for putting vinyl onto, but need some for dye sub.

I wish. That price includes labor, design, and shipping.
