    RRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

That is what I did I have a folder I called my vinyl designs. I saved it on my c drive.. I go in SCAL and go to open project and the file is there but its blank.. when I saved it and used it a couple of times then next time I go back its just blank.. Its happened more than once.. I have alot of experience working with files and programs and saving my work etc but in this program ugh.. It just is blank.. I designed my business card took me a few hours saved it went back the next day edited some stuff on it saved it again and a few days later noticed a problem with it went back in to edit it and it was a completely blank page no design at all.. Some features are outstanding other things I just do not like with SCAL.. I think I will use inkscape to design from now on and then import it from inkscape this way I don't waste time designing and then loosing my work..

    Question

I am pre-making some stuff for a carnival coming up. They are having vendors set up for a donation (pretty good deal I think). We are going to try to have our machines with us if possible I am waiting to hear back as to whether there is electric available. This is our first time doing anything like this so anyone with experience or ideas I could sure use suggestions and ideas.. First question We are going to pre-cut some decals its at the church so we figured if we pre-make some of the fish the NOTW decals that being said how many should we pre-make? Especially if we can not have our machines with us. Second question If we were to take our machines and run them off a generator. Will it hurt the machines? We have a small craft machine we also have the MH-721. Third Question If we pre-make decals where can I find instruction sheets to print to give customers doing self installs of smaller designs or should we send them someplace online like youtube etc? .. I am thinking that anyone that wants decals installed after the thing is over we could do installs will that work? Last Question I am certain others here have done craft fairs or shows of sort. Do you take orders and ask them pay some upfront to guarantee pick up? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.. I can not say enough how much I appreciate your advice and suggestions, I do not have a way to repay you all for your help currently but I will find a way to show my appreciation to you all for your input.. Maybe forward jobs I can not do? Is that good? I just want to show you all how much I appreciate your help.. Thank you

    Designed my Own logo

LOL... Sorry to have messed up your eye sight . LOL.. What do you think is bad with it? The whole thing, the dots, the colors or layout? I am not an artist clearly lol but I wanted something that was not like others. I was trying to get something that was not just plain and boring.. I really value you all and your thoughts and ideas. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out here.

How much pressure do you cut with?

I have the MH721 and I am also new but my settings seem to be working for me.. Speed is 50 and pressure is 100 -110 for GT5 Vinyl.. HTH

    Dislikes

Dislike the distortion in the trace.. I use to use Silhouette Studio with my hobby cutter and it had a Great redraw.. SCAL Pro is not as detailed in the redraw.. I also dislike the font on path (like circles or half circles) it runs letters into other letters ..

    Cameo users - which software

I have to say I just got SCAL Pro with my MH721 there are some good things about SCAL pro.. I like the weeding feature I like that I can see where it will load in my machine etc. But I do not like the text in SCAL Pro.. I did a half circle the other day and the font was all jumbled up and I had to take extra time to reposition each letter... I love love love Silhouette Studio.. Its a great little program and you can use SVG PNG etc with it and when it redraws it gets fine details with it and it looks like the original. If I can get it to work with my MH731 I will use it... I just can not get it to work yet..

    Help

Ok first let me explain our history so maybe someone out there could give me some advice.. I started out with a silhouette sd machine. I made some things for myself and others loved it and wanted me to make some for them so I did it was all good. Then for my own personal self I made on the same machine some wall decals and pieced them together and made large size designs for my doors and walls and car and others wanted me to make them for them as well so I decided to invest in a larger machine on the pretense that I would make designs for myself and a few friends. Well once I made the first design for my car window I started getting some orders and now I have one guy that approched me and asked if I could do strips for him on his car restoration and do strips for his 1972 Scout and I have another lady that approached me and asked if I could do some signage for her windows at her tatoos shop.. I live in an apartment complex so as I am outside working on my stuff I have attracted others with inquires.. So now my question for you all.. It seems that there is a demand in my area for vinyl on both the commercial and personal level. So if I were to decide to use my machine to start a business (let's face it we are all looking to make money so hey if the opportunity presents its self I would be crazy not to at least give it some honest thought) Everyone has to start somewhere and I am willing to learn and I have to the time to do it. So first where would one start learning how to do vinyl as a personal business? I am not looking for a get rich quick scheme, I truly do enjoy working with vinyl and the creative aspect of things. So where does one go to learn this. Is it possible to go from a personal hobbiest into a vinyl business? Where is the line because I can see from the hobby side of things vinyl sells and I know doing it for a hobby and doing it for a business would be two different things. Now from a personal standpoint I had a successful pizza business in the past only got out of it due to health and insurance purposes. So I do unstand and have business experience already. So What is your experiences on getting started? Thank you All so much for your help and advice I just don't want to miss an opportunity if its possible and I am trying to gain the advice from those of you who do it from a business and had to get started from the ground and build it.. Thank You Randy
