    Inkscape to JPEG

Okay, If I modify a logo in Inkscape, How do I save it to a .JPEG or other common photo file... for instance when I modify an image and I want to upload it to an EBAY auction.. none of the inkscape save formats (svg. eps. etc..) work for that. Is there an easy way to get this to work? thanks
  2. Okay, after playing around with it for a while. I got it to do What I wanted and give me a solid cutout. My problem was with the "threshold adjustment" I never tried adjusting it up only down. After adjusting it up I got a solid background trace. What does threshold mean anyway? Is there an explanation of the adjustments somewhere? What is the difference between the 2 adjustments.. should I adjust them both the same? ahh, this stuff is confusing lol
  3. Can Someone please help me with the copy bitmap feature. I can't seem to get it to do what I want, I can't get a solid to stay solid. For example in the picture I added I just want to be able to trace and cut out the orange part but when I trace bitmap it won't keep the orange part solid, it draws 2 sets of lines (so when I go into signcut to cut it cuts 4 lines instead of just the basic outline I want.. If that makes sense.. Basically I am getting a thinner area than I wanted cutout because of the tracing lines and It has double weeding lines. I see In the pictures of the explanation above in trace bitmap- you kept the black area a solid black thats all I am trying to do with my pictures I just cant seem to do what was done above. Mine all come out with the double outline and no solid area. Below is pictures of what I am trying to do. I just want a cutout of the Orange Part. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb183/rpmranger/Picture2.png[/img]http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb183/rpmranger/Picture3.png[/img]
  4. It is making contact with the O-ring. The blade is in as far as it will go. I don't think its defective. I guess Im just wondering if its normal to have a little play in the end cap, not completely rigid? I mean its not excessive, but it does wobble slightly. I don't know if its normal or not as I have never used or set up a cutter before. Seems a slightly bigger O-ring would hold it tighter- if it even matters. I just want to make sure Im not going to break my new cutter lol.

    Laserpoint mac signcut wont cut

Ok, Nevermind. I think I had installed the wrong set of drivers from FTDI. There was two sets for MAC. I installed the MAC OSX ones assuming that the other MAC INTEL ones were the ones for people using Windows partition in a MAC. Im new to MAC and I guess I just figured INTEL was with Windows.. Obviously not the case. After about 6 hours of messing with everything I could think of and about to smash my computer and buy the Keyspan adapter, I looked at my Hardrive description and it said OSX-10.5 "INTEL" ... Im an idiot, woops. SO I downloaded the OSX INTEL drivers and it came up in the Cutter/device settings now. So I did a test on a sheet of paper with the PEN tool and it drew out the SigncutX2 logo perfectly. I am just using the supplied USB cable that came with the cutter, No Keyspan adapter with a new Macbook so I guess it can work just fine with the USB cable if you set it up right, I'm glad I didn't waste $30 on the Keyspan adapter.
  6. Is the part that spins on the bottom to adjust depth suppose to be wobbly? When I get it adjusted to the correct depth, the end cap is only held on by a couple threads so its kinda wobbly, this doesn't seem correct, why is there not more threads?? Either something is wrong or its a crappy design.
  7. Hello, Just got my Laserpoint24. Im using a new Macbook OSX 10.5. I downloaded and installed the rec driver. Not sure if its working properly or not, I am using the USB cable and it is plugged in. When I go into the Cutter/device tab this is what I see: /dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-sync... Not sure if that is right or not, Im assuming that is not right and it should say something else?? it doesn't seem to do anything at all when I try to cut out the sample "signcut" logo. The laserpoint screen just says online and it does nothing. I don't know if I installed the driver wrong or what, I have no Idea about this kind of stuff, I installed it to my HD? Does it need to be installed somewhere else? Or is there a way to turn the driver on or put it into Signcut? I really wish there was some better directions somewhere... these programs basically assume you just know how to do all this stuff thanks.
