Stuck Waiting after cut....
ispperformance posted a topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I have been using my Laserpoint 24 for a while with no issues up until now. When I cut a file the cutter display shows "Waiting" and there is no way for me to job the cutting head, or return it to "Online" unless I power off the cutter and power it back on. This has become very cumbersome when cutting multiple files and needing to move the cutting head. I am using SignCut Pro 2, and they had helped me with some settings, but put the ball in US Cutters court now. Hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible. -

Laserpoint 24 Acting Strange on Curves, and small graphics

Well the issue was with SignCut Pro 1, after some failed troubleshooting they had me switch to the SignCut Pro 2 Beta Version. Everything is now back to normal. -

I am talking to SignCut support now, so far they see no issue with the file they requested I send them. -

Scalp 3? I'm not familiar with it. Where can I find it? For most of my graphics that are sent in from customers, I use Vector Magic to vectorize them before importing to .ai, and then to SignCut. -

I have been having an issue with my Lasercut 24 getting slow and jittery on curves and small graphics regardless of the speed setting. If I hit the pause button for a few seconds the cutter will cut smoothly, but then seems like it catches up to itself and then goes slow and jittery again. I am using SignCut, and just re-installed a fresh copy last night to see if that would fix my issue, but no luck. IMG_3080.MOV.mov -
I have been installing Vinyl Wall art in customers homes for quite some time now. This process is sometimes cumbersome, and has a lot of room for error, as the vinyl doesn't want to stick, the transfer tape won't release the vinyl or grabs the wall too hard etc etc... I am going to offer some wall art / quotes for sale on my website, and if the customer will be installing themselves the process needs to be much easier. What vinyl and transfer tape do you guys use / recommend for the vinyl wall art business that is easy to work with? I seen a local pizza shop owner installing some internet purchased vinyl wall art, and they were going on so easy.... What am I missing here?

I have been using the SignCut software license that came with my cutter for the past year. I just had it expire, and my vinyl business is really slow because I do not have much time between with a new baby. I don't want to spent the money on another year if I am not going to be cutting full bore. I know I can get a month license, but that doesn't seem economical, as it could be put towards the full year. Anyway, I am using corel, and illustrator.... Wondering if there are any products that are cheap and will let me cut direct from those programs. My cousin uses a nice Roland Printer / Cutter, and the software is integrated right into Illustrator. You just use a tool that highlights the outline, and click send to cutter. I am just looking to save a few bucks, as I am probably not going to make much profit in the next few months, but the main need to cut is I have to make some vinyl wall art for my children's room. Let me know what options I have.

Currently using RTape ApliTape 4075, and it is good for small graphics and lettering, but if I am doing a large graphic or lettering the application tape sticks so good it pulls up the graphic. The RTape is a real pain when doing wall quotes on interior walls, puls the graphic right off. I know I need a lower tack strength, but what brand/part number should I be using to prevent these issues.

My wife was stuck in traffic the other day and she seen one of those Family Stick Figure stickers on someones car.... Of course with me having a vinyl cutter she asked that I make her one. I have no stick figure clip art, and searched the web, but returned bad quality images. Anyone know of a clip art package for stick figures? I could make them myself in illustrator, but I know once I make her one, the rest of my family will want one. That's too much free hand illustrator...... Let me know.

Laserpoint 24 and Signcut, won't cut....
ispperformance replied to ispperformance's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
I am using an image from illustrator that I am using the send to signcut feature from illustrator. The image opens in signcut and I can do a preview cut but when I try to cut it nothing happens. I think the computer and printer might not be communicating. -
Laserpoint 24 and Signcut, won't cut....

I just got my Laserpoint 24 and set everything up as i should, the only problem is I can't cut? I have a logo ready to cut in Signcut but when I click cut, it shows a time window, but nothing happens on the cutter. I even tried Sign Blazer with just my name and it won't cut. I am sure it is something simple, please help...... Oh, I can cut a test square using the control panel on the cutter. -
I am just getting started on my own with vinyl. I have dabbled in it a little with a company I used to work with. They had a nice Roland machine, but I do not have or want to spend that much right out of the gate. I am looking at the USCutter MH Series 50", as I want to be able to make 48" wide cuts. What do you guys think of the MH series for starting out? I am also thinking about getting a 24" cutter and just making my wide cuts portrait instead of landscape. If I went that route I might get the Laserpoint 24". Let me know what you think would be good for a newbie. Also curious if my Versaworks software is compatible.
