  1. Aloha, and thanks, that got it. I could not find the settings button for the life of me. and there it was in the "go to cut menu". Seems to work now. thanks again Francis
  2. Aloha, all. I have only a USB on my laptop, using XP on the PCut 630. When plugging in the "online" Cutter I do not get the typical "install screen" prompting me for drivers. I installed the USB drivers from uscutter site. When I plug in the cable I see Comm14 being requested in the Device manager, but the Comm3 is in use by something else on my laptop. What to do? thanks Francis
  3. Aloha, issues solved. I got an old old compaq desktop up and running and got the blazer software installed and now cutting great with serial. Took all of 6 minutes to get going. I guess USB ports are troublesome. thanks for all your help Frank
  4. Aloha, OK back and got the driver working, but no printout 1: it sends output to the cutter (you see the buffer filling up) 2: and the cutter is on line. now what??

  9. Aloha, 1: problem is I do not have a serial port on my laptop 2: I cannot find a driver on the disk and the driver on the location you gave has a .csm that I cannot figure how to open. thanks Frank
  10. Aloha, all. My desktop died and I am trying to install Signblazer 6.06.21 on my laptop. When going to cut I get a message of cutter not found. 1: I am only using the USB port, do you also need the serial? 2: Will it not reinstall because only one install allowed? 3: Uscutter sites says I have to D/L usb drivers, but cannot find where they say they are. The only drivers I find are ones ending in .csm extension and my computer will not recognize. What to do? thanks frank 4: Also the USB < - > Serial is not found in the Device Manager

Aloha, and a bit of help needed

Aloha, I only had a few days to get the order together (gov't contract Schofield), and several changes in the letter types were being made by the contracting office, that I decided to do the work myself. (had 6 days to perform), so I ordered the USCutter Pcut 630 as I will use it later anyway. Got it on Sept 29 and the work had to be done by Oct 1. So it would have driven a sign cutter crazy, with the time constraints. Even now I am cutting some letters that were not in the original order. I already went through 50 yards of 651 from One shot. And I ordered 10 blades on Ebay from Hong Kong for $33.00. Hope the quality is good as the $23.00 backup blade I bot at one-shot. Will figure out what is offset and play around with it. thanks for all your good info. frank

    disappointed

Aloha, Well even as a new person here, I guess I cannot be quiet. The guy was a complete Richard head. I saw many people here FREELY trying to help, but the RH just moaned and complained and when the problem was fixed VERY LITTLE THANKS (if any) was forthcoming. Sorry, just venting Frank
  13. Aloha, all great, helpful forum. I just got my P-cut 630 after deciding to not farm out a job of 2500 4" letters and numbers. I could not find anyone locally to do the job quickly, so I took the plunge and set my own cutter up. The learning curve was a bit steep, (initaily assembling the stand 5 or 6 times before I got it right, to just getting the cutter going). The techie at UScutters was totally brimming over with enthusiasm to help as are most of the writers here on this forum. The Signblazer program is remarkable especially for a freebie. Anyways thanks all and to my question. I have read some about cutting more detailed line art and still have vinyl pulling up. I tried cutter speed down to 30, a new knife, pressure, and knife depth. For you pros, what is the best combo to go with? Better to use Cast material? different degrees knives? ideas? thanks Frank in Hawaii
