  1. My refine started doing the same thing until I realized that the carriage was out of it's track. I apologize if this was addressed in an earlier response, but make sure the two little wheels on the back of the carriage are set IN the "V" groove that they are supposed to be nested in. Also, if the carriage and blade holder are not 90 degrees perpindicular to the vinyl surface, then you will get what I call "chatter", or wavy cuts, unclosed cuts, and chunks like I see in your photos. Good luck.
  2. You should be able to cut any length. Make sure that the page setup is the correct size otherwise your plotter will cut tiles and you will have to piece the graphic together. I have used my plotter to cut letters for up to 60" banners before. Another thing to consider is vinyl alignment. At this length, if the vinyl is fed in crooked, even just a little bit, the graphic will begin to run off the edge of the vinyl and you will have to a) start over or piece another section together which will cause seem in your graphic.
  3. I was having issues with my Refine Cutter MH 721 not cutting as well and precise as it had in the past. Upon inspection I noticed that the carriage was off of it's track. This is a simple and quick fix for those of you with cutting issues. Look at the position/angle of your carriage and blade holder. If it is not 90 degrees to the cutting surface, then you will get imperfect cuts that do not close. You may also notice circles that become oval. Areas of your designs that have "chunks" that are being cut both in the inline, and outside of the border line. You may also be getting what I call "chatter" when attempting to cut straight lines. Chatter appears as a jagged or wavy edge vs. a straight line. The problem.....THE CARRIAGE WAS OFF IT'S TRACK. To fix this simply take the top cover off of the unit (four screws). Gently lift the carriage up and set the wheels that are on the back of the carriage back INTO the "V" shaped track. I did this and low and behold...PROBLEM SOLVED!!! getting perfect cuts again. I have used my Refine for nearly a year and half with no other problems. I have literally cut hundreds of names and numbers for athletic uniforms, as well as signs/banners and window decals. If anyone else is having the issues discussed above, please do this simple check.
