    Class Action Lawsuit?

What does everyone think about this? I keep reading and reading and reading and reading about the same problems year after year. Nothing has changed, the most common problems haven't been fixed. (faulty cutter/Carriage head, dead motherboards, unit not grounded, cuts wont close) All I hear is you need to replace the mother board or buy this or that, why doesn't UScutter fix these issues before sending out a known faulty product? $80 for motherboard $25 for a carriage head, and then sack you with shipping for a known faulty product! Why do these machines last only 6 months if your lucky? Why the short warranty period? Do you know some thing before the sale that your consumers don't? Is that why the initial price is slow low? Make it up on the after sale with service and support? Is this what is has come to? Jim Mine works great had it for years........your lucky, very lucky or you work for UScutter.

    Class Action Lawsuit?

This is going to be day 1 if there is no offical response. Jim Dakotagrafx: Why do you keep trying to derail this....with childish comments? Im employed, divorce has been finalized for 5 years, no pet rock but wouldnt mind a chia pet (hint hint), my PROBLEM is the grounding issues with the cutter!
  3. Your hit the nail on the head! UScutter needs to step up and acknowledge the grounding problems that are causing 90% of all their complaints. If they would figure out how to fix the problem or hire someone who could for them, I dont think you could find a better product for the money BUT........ I truly believe this was a 5 to 7 year business plan, flood the market, make as much as we can, as long as we can and get out to a new venture. (china has millions of product to ship to port) But now there capital has grown and are expanding, to a more stable long term future. I hope. Fix the grounding issue that has been plaguing your company from the start Jim
  4. I was the first one to give input. As for your particular situation, I would not know how to troubleshoot because Flexi is out of our scope of support. I am not trained on Flexi, so I would not know what to suggest. I have the cutters we sell on my tech bench every day, and make cut after cut, without issues. When there is an issue I cannot figure out, it usually means a part needs to be replaced. Try different file formats, if you import in .eps and it has a problem, try .ai Also make sure the file is good. Many times a customer complains of bad cuts with SignCut, when it is really an issue with the file being sent to SignCut. Make sure you remove any unnecessary nodes in the file, and that there are no hidden layers. This causes more issues than anything, and it is not a problem with the cutter or software. Everything sounded good until "it is not a problem with the cutter", it most likely is a problem with the cutter. If you go and take that same file and cut it out with FLEXI on a ROLAND, I will give you a 99% chance it will cut correctly. It could be "Make sure you remove any unnecessary nodes in the file, and that there are no hidden layers". This has been another very popular problem that has to do with software/hardware controlling the stepper motors. The good news is in flexi you can over cut: (not sure about the other software): Open Flexi Open a design Select the cut/plot icon Goto Advanced Tab Check Over Cut (.100 usually does the trick)
  5. This a VERY common problem with these cutters during the winter months. Static builds up on these machines because they are NOT grounded well, and you have to finish the grounding when you set it up.....dont count on the ground from the 3 prong plug as these are NOT grounded well. There are times you have to get to the motherboard and ground that better also. You should ground it from the cutter to the stand to external ground or its not a matter of if but when. I have mine grounded very well even check with an ohm meter and it still died on me. The carriage that holds the blade will not move up and down. GROUND GROUND GROUND There was a long thread on here 2 years ago about this issue and I cannot quickly find it or maybe it has been deleted, but here is a gerneral search for "grounding" on the forum: http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?action=search2;params=YWR2YW5jZWR8J3wwfCJ8YnJkfCd8MTksMjQsMjYsMTgsMzYsNTQsNDYsMzAsMjUsMzUsMzcsNjAsNDMsNDIsNDAsMzksMjMsMjIsNywxLDQ4LDQ3LDU1LDU2LDYxLDU3LDU4LDYyLDUwLDQ5LDYzLDY0LDYsMTAsNDEsOSwyNywyOCwzNCw4LDMzLDMyLDMxLDQ1LDQ0LDEzLDEyLDI5LDExLDUyLDUxLDE2LDE1LDE0fCJ8c2hvd19jb21wbGV0ZXwnfHwifHN1YmplY3Rfb25seXwnfHwifHNvcnR8J3xyZWxldmFuY2V8Inxzb3J0X2RpcnwnfGRlc2N8InxzZWFyY2h8J3xncm91bmRpbmc=;start=30 Good Luck, Jim
  6. How long have you owned your cutter, if your within your warranty (90 days usually) they should fix it with little hassle, but if you are outside your warranty you will have to pay for a new carriage head. $25+shipping There are 2 ways to test the head... hit the test button on top of the cutter, does the head move up and down? (baud rate would have nothing to do with this as it is an internal command) remove the cover on the carriage head and place a 9v battery across the 2 copper strips, does the head move? + - █▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄█ █▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄█ - + █▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀█ █▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀█ Jim

So your saying: UScutter = THE DOLLAR STORE of the sign industry and do not buy their cutters if your not happy with them lasting 90 days Jim EDIT: Hey Booper and I just came up with a new slogan together, lets see how uscutter likes it :-

And how am I showing my mod power? If I wanted to show my mod power, Jimbo, this thread would be gone and you along with it. I haven't said anything that others haven't said. OK Johnny Boy Jim

    Class Action Lawsuit?

Did that battery test with no reaction to the carriage head. The carriage head will only move down after 240g+ of down force and will not move back up after it has moved down. No support ticket being it is out of warranty. Jim

    Class Action Lawsuit?

Good question Dakotagrafx, That is what I am trying to figure out now, was working now dead. Looks to be the carriage, MB seems to be working fine. It has always been on the same outlet with surge protector and I grounded it from the chassis to the frame to external ground. Jim

    Class Action Lawsuit?

Why do you think there is a kick back? For the number of cutters USCutter sells, the number of complaints on here that are not resolved are very few. Like John said, people that do not have issues usually will not post here. I have see maybe a handfull that have not been taken care of to the customers satisfaction. Jay I don't care if hes getting a kick back but don't hide in the weeds about it! Back on topic.... The issue is not about getting it resolved for $80 or whatever the price of the new part is. UScutter will fix your problems with your cutter very efficiently, AS LONG AS YOU PAY FOR THE FIX THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE BROKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE! (plus shipping both ways) Jim

I purchased a product not a service/entertainment like golf. When I purchased this equipment it didn't come with a disclaimer saying if I get hit by a stray golf ball I would not hold the PGA........liable. A better analogy would be TOYOTA finally recalling all their cars after enough people have stood up and did something about it! Toyota has known since 2007 about the sticking gas pedals from insurance companies and choose not to do anything about it until the media got a hold of it. Jim

tlzimmerman LOL user error.....ive never seen a product claim so much "user error" problems How about we make this constructive and fix these many issues rather than deflect and ignore the issues that come with a purchase of a UScutter. Jim

Banner John Whats your kick back to always down play everyones critical views of UScutter? You have been on here longer and me and I know you know what im talking about with all the complaints about motherboards, carriage heads, closing cuts, usb failures .........and the infamous not grounded properly which is the cause of all of the motherboard, carriage, and lcd failures! Period, and has been known for a looonnng time....you can search for it on here and find people who actually admit they work for the UScutter who address the problem saying it needs to be grounded! Great lets start name calling Jim

    Class Action Lawsuit?

"A class action is a specific type of lawsuit filed by a party who seeks individual relief as well as relief on behalf of a specifically designated class of people or businesses. In this type of lawsuit, a party may have only suffered damages of amounts even as low as just a few dollars, however, the damages are much more when the total damages suffered by the class are calculated" Im not talking about your machine or your brothers/neighbors...It's about the total machines sold and the amount of repair of the same issues over and over, year after year without it being resolved/fixed. Its the same in any business they are not going to fix the issues if they are not made to, in UScutters case I dont think they have enough "pull" with the manufacture in china to have the rebranded equipment fixed, that they are selling to all of us and it is not right or fair that we have to pay for it! "you get what you pay for" I paid x amount of dollars that I was told would be able to cut vinyl, it doesnt do it, so I gave money and get nothing? If they would stop selling faulty equipment, and repair the very well know issues, many many others uscutter customers would be happy and im sure sales would increase exponentially. Jim
  18. I am having the same issue and working on figuring it out... Does the knife go up or down when you use the "test" button on the control panel? Does the knife go up or down when you use more force 100g? 200g? 300g? 400g? The reason I ask this, is because mine will start to go down when set to 240g or higher but will still not go up during any part of the cut. It acts as if it is broken completely when set lower ...no movement at all Jim
