    Vinyl Transfer Tape.

Thanks for the info......do you guys have a way you like to price your vinyl. I've been figure it up by doing the following below. 1 roll - 24" Wide X 10 Yards = 24" x 360inches = 8'640 square inches 1 roll cost: $15.99 / 8'640 = .002 Then I just usually charge .2 or .4 per square inch. I charge by square inch since I've only been doing smaller decals. And not any large signs and stuff.

    Vinyl Transfer Tape.

ok thanks that makes sense......i'm used to designing layers in illustrator going from the bottom up. So it will just take some practice to get used to layering my designs backwards. Thanks Jay2703

    Vinyl Transfer Tape.

Ok I am still pretty new to this.....I've made some single color vinyl designs. But I am wanting to make some multicolored designs. And I have made a two colored design twice now but. how would someone go by making a three colored or more design. I know it requires some form of special tape. Can anyone help me out with which one is best. I've been buying the greenstar vinyl that uscutter supplies. But I have some Orcal Vinyl also. Thanks In Advance, Squewheet
  7. Thanks for the help guys....I have plans to buy a better machine. But haven't made enough sales yet since I am a fresh start up business.
  8. I have a MH871 Cutter I bought off ebay. And I have cut alot of designs but none that is very long. And I am trying to figure out a way to keep the vinyl straight so I don't cut off alot of extra vinyl. Anyone have any tips. Thanks, Squewheet

    Cutting Mat - vinyl cutter

I have a MH871 vinyl cutter and I was wondering if there is some sort of mat that you can place in the cutter along with what your cutting to make it a little siffer......basic more on paper. Because what I am trying to do is cut on some paper to create a stecil for a friend. And when I tried it once before it cuts the paper but it just gets all bunched up and crumbles it. I thought maybe having a thin plastic mat under it might help. If anyone could help me out that would be great.
  11. I bought a MH871 and when I first got it the cutter worked fine. But since I have moved my office and I tried to use the cutter it tends to cut all the way thru the vinyl and it also binds / crinkles the vinyl in the middle when all the roller wheels are down. I have tried everything I can think of and I think I am just making it worse. Does anyone here have any suggestions. Thanks, Squewheet
  12. I have solved my issue finally by myself. But what I had to do is unplug the keyspan from the computer and plug it in with just the usb. Then I had to make sure I had my vmware fusion 4 detect the cutter when I plug it in the computer. And once I did that I went into the devices and installed the drivers and now it works just fine.

  14. I have made another thread about this but noticed that it might of been in the wrong section to get the proper attention. But I bought a MH871 cutter and I have cut one decal with it and it worked fine until the other day. I know that it might not work properly the way I have it setup up since I am running on a mac and I am running Flexi thru a virtual machine of win7 on vmware fusion 4. But I ordered a new windows 7 machine to be comming in the mail in a few........but I would like to see if anyone has had this problem in the video below before. What is happening is I open Flexi and import my .ai file that was done in illustrator. And then I set up my document and I set the origin on the plotter. After all that I go back to the computer and send the design to the plotter and then the machine just moves back to the side of the cutter and taps the red button on the side and then it moves back a little bit to the left and then it moves and hits the red button again. It just keeps doing that until i shut it off and then I have to reset the machine. Video of this in action is below.
  15. I have deleted the program and re-installed my keyspan driver and then installed a 8.1 flexi program that i bought. And then setup the machine to work with a roland pnc-1000 setup and it still does the same thing. I know that it might seem like i am being annoying with this. But I would like to see if anyone has had this problem. I have ordered a windows computer but it's not here yet and I have a few jobs to cut and would like to get this fixed before I get my new windows computer.
