    Looking for an RV

Thanks to everyone. These look great.
  2. The stand has two rollers on the back that holds the vinyl roll that you are cutting. This seems to help the vinyl track better.
  3. I'm not sure about Flexi, but the same thing was happening to me and I changed the offset. Others have suggested to go with a 60 degree blade, but I haven't tried that yet.
  4. When you are in the cutting mode, what is your offset setting?
  5. Computer experience? When is the last time you updated your website....1995? http://www.422commrealty.com/ Lets face it, you're a real estate agent trying to save a buck by making his/her own signs and website. You have no patience or respect for people, which is probably reflected in all of the real estate you sell. If you weren't so arrogant and negative about everything, you problems would have been solved days ago.
  6. Found these at the local Harbor Freight. $3.99 for a dozen. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94756
  7. Click on "Additional Options" under the text where you post your message. Browse for the file and upload it.
  8. Post the file and we can take a look on our end.
  9. Yeah, I originally went there looking for the weeding tools that someone suggested on another post. I ended up buying these pencils to try them out. I also bought a nice X-Acto knife with a rubber comfort grip handle. I ended up passing on the weeding tools.

    Looking for a finger pointer

Thats funny. I looked there and I didn't see them. I looked in the arrows...didn't think to look under signs. Thanks. The first one on the list was perfect!

    DELETING SBD FOLDERS

You can't delete while in the folder within Signblazer. I think jay2703 is correct. You have to delete through windows explorer. My Computer, C Drive, SBD folder.....select and delete.
  13. You can't cut from Adobe Illustrator. You need to use some form of sign cutting software like Signblazer or Flexi. I cut out graphics with Signblazer without any problems. You need to import the EPS and then you'll be in business. I haven't been sucessful with AI files, but I think you just need to convert the files to EPS and import them into Signblazer.

    Vinyl (when you start off)

I started by buying 4 rolls of Oracal 651. White, Black, Red, Blue. Prices were great and only $9.99 shipping. I also sent for free samples to try. Oracal sent me a bunch of 8x10 samples to try. Looking back, I probably would buy a 3 year calendered vinyl in 15" to practice with.

    disappointed

I bought a PCUT 24" and I was up and running within an hour. A few problems here and there, but you would have the same problems with any othe cutter if you are a beginner. This was the first cutter I've ever owned, and I have no complaints. The best $250 I have ever spent. The folks on this forum are more than helpful with any problem you face. Ken from USCutter is equally helpful. All you have to do is ask nicely.

    Looking for a finger pointer

    Good idea. thanks a bunch.
  17. I don't want to point out the obvious, but it seems like this is something that would be printed in the instructions or included in the box. Something like: "Caution: Your PCUT must be grounded or your machine will do weird things" Or maybe a how to lesson on grounding it properly for those you may not know what grounding is and how it works. Without this forum, I would be on my 10th roll of vinyl. Or worse, my cutter would have been damaged from the static buildup. Just my 2 cents.
  18. Well, I grounded the cutter to the stand with a piece of wire. Connected the screw on the bottom of the machine to a screw on the side of the stand. I also wiped the vinyl with fabric sheets. I don't know which of these helped, but it worked. Either way, I finally finished and my office smells nice Hopefully the random "X" of death won't return anytime soon. Problem solved thanks to all of your help. I can't thank you enough.
  19. Triangle and X's where from the same file. Grounded? No. I cut a much larger sign the other day with no problems. I was hoping to make it all one piece since I'm mailing this out as an RTA.
  20. I was just about to post the file. Here it is. The funny thing is it was an "X" the second and third time. It was a triangle the first time?? kkjewelers3.SBD kkjewelers3.SBD
  21. Ok, I tried it again. With the pen plotter on the back side of the vinyl. (I didn't want to waste any more vinyl) Same thing happened. Big "X" where there shouldn't be one. This time the pen went to the far right side against the red button.

I know I've seen this font....

    Serpentine, maybe with an italic.

    App Tape

Need some advice with application tape. I bought a roll of R-Tape Conform and I can't get the letters to release from the vinyl backing. I'm only getting every other letter to release. Font is Times New Roman .75 inches tall. I was using a scrap piece of Oracal 641. Some of the letters actually took some of the paper backing along with it.

    App Tape

Ok, I read a few post and it seems that I needed to change the offset. Changed it to .25 after running it at 0.00. Seems a little better, but a few of the letters pulled up at the corners like the blade snagged a little. Would anyone suggest setting the offset at something between 0 and .25, like .15.
