I just cut out these letters again at 85 pressure and 50 for the speed. It worked perfectly before and now the letters won't weed at all. Plus I got a huge triangle cut out in the middle of the words. It cut through 2/3 of the words. I checked the drawing again and I don't see any lines like that anywhere. Tried it again at 95. Better, but some of the letters didn't release. It was like the blade close the cut and there was a tiny spot where the line wasn't cut through. Tried it again at 105 but slowed it down to 40. Cuts the same as previous. The blade isn't completely finishing the letters and they are hanging on by a tiny piece where the blade didn't finish the cut. It's like a hanging chad!! I increased the blade a little and tried it again at 105 and 40. Seemed to be ok. What really concerns me the most is how cutting at 100 and 50 before was to much and the letters were not sticking to the app tape or the paper backing of the vinyl was sticking to the letters. Now I'm cutting with more pressure and it works fine?? What the heck!!

Anyone have a black panther I can use. Something like this.....

I used the hinge method for the top and a separate hinge for the bottom section. Used a squeegie to smooth it out as I went. Pulled the app tape off at a 45 degree angle. I don't think they will mind since they were using a piece of cardboard with Sharpie lettering. I don't think you'll notice from a distance, but I don't want a potential customer to go elsewhere because of my work. Even if this sign is a freebie. I was going to put my name on the bottom corner, but I don't know if I want to promote a crappy sign.

Well, here is the final product. I had some problems with bubbles in the vinyl. I'm wondering if I should have put it on wet. I did an entire van dry and never had a single bubble that I can remember. This is a freebie that I'm doing for a relative, so I guess they can't complain. Still bugs the heck out of me to see bubbles.

Need help vectorizing this. I really only need this in black and white, but this is the largest file I could find. Thanks for the help.

PERFECT! Thanks so much.

Your welcome. I just noticed that you may want to drag the red logo to the left so it covers the letter "Y". Good luck.

Thanks for your help. I tried opening these and they are in several colors. Is there an easy way to make them black and white?

Thanks for the tip.

I have a customer that wants me to do the graphics on his boat. Basically he wants to cover up the graphics on the bottom. (see pic below) This is a first for me, so naturally I have a few questions. 1) What is the easiest way to remove the old graphic? 2) Can I simply cover up the graphic with new vinyl? 3) What vinyl would you recommend? 4) Where is a good resource for boat graphics? 5) Where can I find a boat outline? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Boat is a 1988 larson DC cuddy cabin The main concern is the fading of the paint. And yes, the bottom under the rail.

The boat is a 1988 larson DC cuddy cabin. What would you guys charge to do both sides and the back in a solid color. Boat is 19 feet long, not sure of the back width. I estimated that I would probably need two rolls of 24" x 10 yds at $54 per roll for Oracal 751 Cast. How many hours would you estimate for a job this size?

Does anyone have a boat outline for a 1988 larson DC cuddy cabin?

I read somewhere that you can find tutorials for inkscape on youtube.

I'd rather have this one, but I'm afraid it is too small to vectorize.

Here it is as a JPG.

It turns out that the bottom swoosh is actually painted. It has since faded and they want to cover it up. So if I have a picture of the boat, how do you go about designing something that will cover it up. I would hate myself if I cut it out and it didn't fit when I got to the job. Of course, I would measure the boat and scale the picture to match. Are there any good graphics out there that anyone could share to maybe dress it up a little more?

Just wondering what everyone uses to ship vinyl. Is it ok to ship rolled up in a tube or is it better to fold between the letters and mail it flat? I suspect that most people ship the smaller decals in the mail with a stamp, but I curious about larger graphics.

What about high school logos? Is there any copyrights to be worried about here?
