  1. Not a problem. I'll figure it out later. I actually stole another relative's golf cart and am overhauling it Detroit RedWings style for a Thursday reveal. They also don't know it's missing, yet.

    Pepsi golf cart follow up

I just wanted to follow up with a huge thank you to those who helped me gather what I needed for my Uncles retirement present, which was that we surprised him by redoing his golf cart. We cut it pretty close. The party started at "4pm" and at 2pm we were 30 miles away with the entire cart apart, the topside of the roof was still white, and nothing had clear coat on it yet. But my wife and youngest helped out and we rallied and got there in time to surprise him with plenty of daylight left. There were quite a few Pepsi guys there who all thought it was a gift from Pepsi, and more people than not ran their fingers across the logos because they couldn't believe they weren't stickers. Anyway, all I'm saying is that everyone involved couldn't have been happier and I honestly don't think I could have done it without the right font - that I wouldn't have had without help here, so again, THANK YOU! Here's a couple quick pics. One of just the hood logo, and another of the whole cart including the awesomely terrible pepsi logo hubcaps. Peace, John
  3. Thanks very much everyone. I really appreciate it and I'm sure one of those will work out great.
  4. Ok - first of all THANK YOU for clueing me in. I honestly didn't realize I was asking for anything outside the scope of the norm. I just figured that while my SB converter struggled, someone else may have a program that could kick it out within 3 cilcks and/or 30 seconds and it wouldn't be a big deal. I definitely don't expect anyone to work for minutes on something like this, let alone HOURS. My apologies. That said, let me start over. Concerning the above graphic - is there a free vectorizing software that I may be able to download that would perform vectorizing better than signblazer? OR? About how much would I expect to pay someone to convert that image into something that would work with SB? Thanks, John
  5. Someone sent me this picture because I have a 1965 Biscayne wagon. I REALLY love this graphic and REALLY want to use it to make myself some Tshirts and vinyl for the back window of that 1965 - but I can't get the image to clean up enough with signblazer to do so. Part of the problem is that the image is actually a 1965 Pontiac, so I need a clean piece to work with to "remove" the tail light and part of the trim piece to make it into a Chevy Biscayne. If I could get some help, I'd be VERY appreciative. Thanks, John
  6. AWESOME. I was on my 3rd page of googlenet resuslts of "pepsi font" keyword search. I really appreciate it.
  7. Brands of the world is where I already got a couple of them from, but I either couldn't get them to appear when I imported them into SB - or I couldn't separate the linework. Thank you though. That font is close, but it's not the right one. It's missing that tang at the upper left of the letters. Good to have backup if I have to fake it though. Thank you too.
  8. Hey everyone. I'm a long time prodigal lurker and generally just a vinyl cutting hobbyist. I LOVE this site and the support it offers, but regrettably - I'm almost never in a position to help someone as my software and skills are both mediocre at best. Anyway, If you could please be so kind as to help me out with this - it would make a LOT of people very happy. My uncle just retired from delivering Pepsi for over FORTY years. He bought a camper in a seasonal park next to my in-laws where there is a golf course. He also bought his own cart. This is Tuesday. This afternoon, I just got asked by my inlaws if I could "Pepsi-ize" his cart before his retirement party on Saturday afternoon if they bought the paint. Before 6pm, I had the paint delivered, the cart stolen and replaced with a clone, and an air compressor borrowed - and I had it all torn down before dark. Tomorrow is "scuff/tape/shoot it blue" day. Thursday is for the custom airbrushing including the water droplets effect on the pepsi globe. Friday is for clearcoating, and Saturday morning is reassemly and delivery by afternoon. Anyway - as you can tell - I'm seriously under the gun. I need cuttable pepsi logos with the corresponding pepsi font to use as a stencil so that I can airbrush it onto the hood and sides of his cart. Here are the ones I'd like to try to use: http://www.3dwallz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/31/basketball-funny-sayings.jpg (that one was bigger than I wanted to share here) I get that I can probably expect someone to jump on their soapbox about copyrights, infringemints, and "blah blah blah" to save me from myself, and I honestly do appreciate that, but I assure you that not only am I getting ZERO financial compensation for this 11th hour thrash, but I'm also a die hard Coke drinker who has no interest in Pepsimobilia beyond this one single gift of my time and talents to a pepsi man of 40+ years. IF they ever did find out and were upset - they'd forgive me even quicker. That said, If I'm asking too much and don't realize it - can someone please at least help me locate THAT pepsi font - with that little "gotcha" at the upper left of every letter but the S? I get that it's not the newest logo or font, but as an artist - I think it's the sexyist recent one and the current lowercase, thin lined one is too wimpy. Realistically, if I have that font - I can make a circle and fake a wavy line to get by - but that will cost me time that I'm not sure I have and I'd rather have my artwork TRUE for my uncle, and not a "believable lie". I'm just using the free signblazer cutting software that came with my 721 cutter - and I've already tried to work what little magic I have on these - and my grade was an F. If it helps - my email is flameology@gmail.com. Thanks in advance and God bless. John
  9. I just spoke with Ken on the phone. I had THOUGHT that my deal was on the carraige because it looked like it and the bigger letters turned out - but upon Ken's reccomendation and closer inspection - one wheel was in front of the track and not ON it. It didn't even look crooked. I know you say it's on there dude - but LOOK AGAIN. Thanks again Ken, John

    Yet another Michigan Noob!!!

Thanks Joe. Here's what I mean by needing it to make signs for my laundry. I needed it to make signage for: The business door (5) windows that are 4' x 6' a double sided road sign that's 6'x8' signage internal to the store window signage for our burb, alero, wagon, wagon, and wagon anything else that looks like a sticker will stick to it! Based on the quotes I got for the road sign LETTERING alone - this thing will pay for itself on just that one project. Once I'm done with those things - then I can begin to play with it to do things like creating stencils for sandblasting glass, etc.
  11. I joined this forum to ask this exact same question! I'm new, and I get that - but it's very frustrating to have to use the exacto to connect the starting point and ending points of arcs, circles, and letter corners - almost all of them. I also thought that maybe I was supposed to turn my cutter blade to face a different direction - then I see that it rotates as it goes like a caster wheel. This is on my first sign and the only letters it didn't hose me on were the ones that were like 3" tall. Everything else needs special attention that I shouldn't have to give. I'm happy to have the cutter, but not happy about spending so much extra time having to do the last 1% of it's job manually. I really hope that it boils down to using a different setting or some kind.
  12. Greetings all. Imagine my surprise to see how many fellow Michiganders are already here and are also new. I just got my MH721 refine a couple weeks ago but have only just begun to try to break it the past few nights. I'm not a sign guy or in the sign biz, but I needed the machine to create signs for my dry cleaning and laundry business that has none. I'd always wanted a cutter as a cool toy to play with, and this situation made it a no brainer. "Phlint" is because I'm from beautiful, sunny Flint, MI - also near Grand Blanc like SpaceGraphics said he is. Anyhoo - that's my deal and I look forward to "meeting" you all. Peace, John
