    Graphtec FC-8000 Problems

Then slow the cutter down. I always cut slow and never have problems. Your trying to cut thicker material, so run it slower. No reason to run that fast. You can see at that speed it is not working out and your just wasting vinyl. Plus it puts more wear and tear on your machine. It's the same for cutting detailed designs and text, you run it slower. I have never had my cutter past speed 6. I have never needed to. It's going on 13 years and never a problem. I cut several orders, almost everyday. My niche' is large designs, 20" w x 8-12 ft long. What does it do when you cut at speed 5? With a new blade?

    Graphtec FC-8000 Problems

There are instructions in the user manual on how you should have your pinch rollers set as far as pressure on them. There are more instructions than this if you have more than 2 pinch rollers.

    USCutter SC not cutting

It looked like on the video it was going up and down to me also. But she said no. Yes, there is a youtube video, which I watched, that showed the ring of the blade holder inside the clamp. She didn't reply to that.

Do you have the ring of the blade holder inside the carriage arm? Then clamped down? It is supposed to be inside.. Is the carriage arm/ blade holder going up and down at all? Can you push it up and down? Did you see this cutter cutting? Do you have your blade holder down in the carriage arm correctly? Make sure the wheels of the carriage head are firmly down in the track. Maybe someone that owns an SC will come a long and help. This is just a user to user forum.

Are you sure the cutter is online? From the vinyl cutter it's self control panel. Here is the user manual for that cutter https://www.uscutter.com/static/PDFs/SC_Manual_06152016.pdf

I don't see where you are mention which cutting software that you are using. So which cutting software, on which operating system? So when you are running the TEST on the cutter, the cutter doesn't cut? Are you sure you have the cutter online?

    Graphtec CE7000 improvements worth it?

You can download the Graphtec software right now, from the Graphtec site. No serial number required. Graphtec software runs on GP-GL language. Graphtec language, But you can use any other type of software, on the HP-GL language. I use Flexi software to cut with. You can even use the old Signblazer software. Many are still using it on their newer Graphtecs, because they didn't want to learn a new software when they bought them. I have never needed to replace any parts in 12 years and I cut almost everyday. Why pinch rollers? Your supposed to leave the pinch rollers up when not in use. On Graphtecs blade offset is ZERO. No need to change it. The biggest problems with people getting vinyl cutters, is they don't set the blade depth correctly. Too many are using this credit card or post it notes for blade depth. It is 10 times too much blade depth and just plain wrong. The correct instructions have been posted on this forum hundreds of times. And listed under the BLADE depth category. You may even have your blade depth wrong. FC8000 on up also have a dual blade holder position, so you can cut all the way thru, or perf cut the vinyl with out a carrier sheet. It also has a cross cutter blade to cut your vinyl off after cutting your design. Graphtecs are made with good quality parts, not like a Titan or a value cutter. Night and day difference. My cutter weighs around 86 pounds with the stand, which is also very well built. The FC cutters are on castor wheels.

    Graphtec CE7000 improvements worth it?

I purchased 2 new Ce5000-60's for my kids. 1 was around 2012. The other around 2015. Never any problems. Many people on this forum own Graphtec Ce vinyl cutters, Rarely do you hear any problems, Mostly user error. Graphtec cutters have a great resale value, because of great quality and they last for years. Speed doesn't matter to me, I cut slow regardless. Just like now, I am cutting and doing orders and answering questions on this forum. The reason I choose the 30" is because, (which is only in the FC line), is because I had a Seiki 36 Inch, and had designs for that size. Now part of my nich'e is those larger sizes, which get me more money. I cut very detailed designs, and they cannot be overlapped, they are 1 decal 27" 28" wide. I can also cut detailed designs up to 16 ft long with out any tracking problems. I have never tried over 16 ft long, because I only have an 8 ft table. I would guess more CE vinyl cutters are sold than the FC unit, because of price. Also parts are still sold for the FC8000. I barely see a difference between the FC8000 and the FC8600, You might also find good deals on the FC8600.

    Graphtec CE7000 improvements worth it?

Where do you live? Just checking out Ebay, There are some Graphtec FC8000. 24" and 30" cutters that are for sale for about the price of the CE cutters being sold. These cutters are like tanks, Built very sturdy. Much more force than a CE. They come standard with the catch basket.. But make sure it is included in the ad. So don't rule out the used FC units, when your looking. I bought a new FC back in 2008, Never a problem. Also picked up a used FC8000 from Ebay a couple of years ago. No problems. Both of mine are 30" I don't do contour cutting , so I didn't care about the ARMS. I wanted a cutter, that would cut great, with great tracking. These cutters cut very detailed designs great. Set the settings and they are still there the next time, No fiddling around with having to change anything when I cut. Maybe force once in a while for chrome vinyl. You can also change your settings from your computer with the Graphtec Cutting Controller.
  11. You have to install the FTDI driver to create a com port number in your device manager of your computer. That is to make a USB connection. Those cutters do not have true USB. and it is not plug and play. , Then match the com port number in Flexi to the comport number in your computer device manage, com port number below 4. You need to find the FTDI driver for Windows 10.(google is your friend) You also have to go into Flexi Prodution manager and choose your vinyl cutter and set it up.

    Graphtec FC-8000 Problems

This cutter has dual positions for the blade holder, Front and back. So you can cut all the way thru without a carrier sheet. The cutter has a channel in front of the teflon cutting strip. You can also perf cut, without hurting the teflon cutting strip , as long as the blade holder is in the front position. The FC8000 was the first year for this, and they continued with it.
  13. Sounds like you have the Command on the wrong command. Flexipro is Command HP-GL. Any Graphtec software is Command GP-GL (Graphtec Language)
  14. Too many users have crashed/locked up their cutters downloading the newer firmware. Why are you wanting to? I have owned my Graphtec since 2008. I have never downloaded new firmware. I have never had any types of problems with my Graphtec.
  15. Your user manual other software and all info is at the Graphtec site.
  16. You need to create your own niche'. Meaning, create something that others don't have. If your just selling what others are selling , then it is just about price and who can be the lowest. No one makes money that way. And don't do copyrighted decals. They will get you in a lot of trouble, when you get caught. These companies have lawyers just looking for people who are violating their owners rights, that is their job.
  17. You would probably be back eventually with lifted vinyl and other problems. This is correct way to set your blade depth. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and in your hand, firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should just barely see and feel your blade tip out of the blade holder.
  18. How did you set your blade depth? Too many incorrect instructions out there. Never use a credit card width or post it notes to set blade depth. They are incorrect and about 10 times too much blade exposed out of the blade holder.

Sure Cuts Alot 5 or Vinylmaster?

Each software has a trial version to try for yourself, and see which one that you prefer. Download and try them. Vinyl Master was created for professional sign and decal makers and can be upgraded.
  20. Did you download the driver, and install for the USB connection? USB on a value cutter is not True USB like higher end cutters. After you download the driver, reboot your computer. It creates a com port number in your computer device manager. The com port numbers have to match in your computer device manager as well as your software. Vinyl cutters are not plug and play. From UScutter.com support In most cases, all needed PC drivers will be preloaded in VinylMaster. If you need to download and install drivers for the USB connection to work properly go to www.uscuttersupport.com and select the driver that supports your Windows version. #12 in user manual. https://www.uscutter.com/static/PDFs/LP3user_manual_FINAL_07_09_2019.pdf
