There is already a thread here that people showed their shops, you will have to find it. Also, there is only a couple handfuls of forum members that answer questions anymore. I never went small. I started with large graphics and never looked back. My average is 20" wide by 8 feet. L. Clear up to 27" w x 16 feet .L. I prefer making my money fast. Less work, more pay. Large detailed graphics is my niche' I work out of a 13' x 14' bedroom, 8 ft table, 30" cutter, old XP laptop. I have been at it for 16 years, online only. Good luck.

No mention of trying a different cable or a different cutting software. There are free trial cutting software you could try. Or whether the cutter, even cuts the TEST feature, directly from your cutter.. Or which version of a computer operating system that you are using. Or whether a update on your computer is causing problems. Like trying system restore to go back when it did cut good. Is Coreldraw being used with a Roland plug in, as CorelDraw is not cutting software. Have you reinstalled the drivers?

The Graphtecs show up as a printer, in Printers and Faxes on my Windows XP. Same deal with Windows 7. They have TRUE USB. I am not connected on Windows 10. We just don't know what cutter you have. You have to figure out what brand cutter you have.. Can't help, til we know what the vinyl cutter brand is. Where did you get the driver? That cutter is not a Seiki. Which cutter are you choosing in Easy CUT for set up? What does the driver say, in the PROPERTIES, when you expand that driver in PRINTERS? Or any other info in that driver.? Mine says GRAPHTEC 7000, which is what it is. What was the seller selling this cutter as? For a brand name? Do you have an ad you purchased from? Hopefully you are clicking file CUT/PLOT. not PRINT!

Until you know what that REAL vinyl cutter brand is and the correct driver, it might be very hard to set up. We don't know what you bought. Only your seller knows. Cutter scale calibration is in the cutting software.

Easy Cut is like Vinyl Master, also made by Future Corp. There is calibration Cutter scale. Instructions for your software is under HELP at the top of your layout screen. That tool is in software, not your vinyl cutter. Time to learn your software.

Check out Vevor brand. They have SK 870 models and are newer vinyl cutters than Seiki. I have not read good things about Vevor. People come here and can't get them working. Real Seiki cutters have a raised metal logo attached to their cutters on the left side. Just like UScutter has rebranded vinyl cutters from other brands, that SK model could be used on other brands, VEVOR brand has many different vinyl cutters, plus they sell other items of machinery. 870 is just a width of the vinyl cutter. Not the brand name. SK is not a brand name. You will just have to search 870 models with lasers. You should be contacting where you bought the vinyl cutter.

I don't know where you got your vinyl cutter, but Seiki vinyl cutters in the US are sold with USB and serial connection both. Are you sure it is a Seiki? These cables are included with US models. I have never seen the items that you are showing on the control panel, on a Seiki vinyl cutter. Seiki vinyl cutters do not have lasers. They come with Flexistarter, which has contour cutting right in the software program. They have never been made with a laser in the US. What is the model number on the vinyl cutter.? Serial (RS-232C) Cable Included USB Cable Included Here is a Seiki 870T. It has dual connection and no laser. That is the same cutter that they were selling back in 2009. I bought one for my daughter. I have a 850H. Seiki has never made newer models. Scroll down the page. Did you download the FTDI driver for your version of windows? Extract and install it? It should be a com port number. Then you match the com port number in your computer device manager to com port number in cutting software. They must match. Old software does not matter, My Flexistarter software is from 2008. I use it on my Graphtec daily. Many people still use Signblazer which is abandonware. I still run on an XP laptop, many people do, as it is stable software. Some companies call vinyl cutters "printers", but they do not print, there is no ink. Lose the word printer. The password info you will have to get info from Seiki.

Is this a new cutter? Or new to you? If new purchase from vendor, contact the vendor. I have never seen password on a vinyl cutter. Which cutting software are you using with this cutter? Most Seiki vinyl cutters come with Flexistarter cutting software. Seiki vinyl cutters are pretty good vinyl cutter. It started my business for 14 months before i got a Graphtec., I still have my Seiki.

Your vinyl cutter is not a printer, it cuts, not prints. You can purchase a Tripp-lite Keyspan Adapter at many vendors. Use with a null modem cable. Null modem is connected to the cutter, then other end of null modem is connected to the Tripp lite keyspan Adapter, Then the USB end of Tripp lite Keyspan Adapter is connected to a USB port on your computer. The tripp lite Keyspan Adapter has it's own driver. Tripp-lite is the brand name. regular USB to serial adapters, do not work with a vinyl cutter. Password for what? The vinyl cutter does not have a password. Depending on which cutting software that you are using, the software may have a password, but we would not know what it is.

The easiest way in Graphtec Pro Studio, is to make a small rectangle in the layout screen like 3" x 3" Select cut plot. wait for screen to open, Go to PROPERTIES upper LEFT corner, Click Properties, DEFAULT JOB PROPERTIES Comes up. At the very top of that there is a picture of a blade. select it. At the top of that screen is STEP SIZE. Start at 1016. Choose, APPLY then OK. Now cut your 3" x 3" and measure it. It should be 3" x 3", If not, adjust your step size until it is. Do the same for every cutter if using Graphtec Pro Studio. STEP size is the output size. That is how many steps in an inch that you are telling your cutter to cut.

I don't know of any software, other that Graphtec Cutting controller that can do that. You should have HELP at the top of your layout screen. That IS usually your cutting software instructions.. There is only a handful of volunteers here that answer questions and none use SCALP software. Craftedge which makes SCALP software, has their own forum. , try that.

Most any vinyl cutter has arrows to push to up, down, left, right on the control panel.

Get down eye level with the blade holder bottom. Push the blade holder down to the vinyl and look. There should just barely be a sliver of light between the vinyl and bottom of the blade holder. And the blade should not be going into the back of the vinyl. It is less blade more force.

Did you look at the blade tip under a magnifying glass and make sure the tip has not broken off.? Try a different blade. I have never heard of anyone on here using a pressure so low as 18, which still makes me think you still have too much blade exposed. Too much blade exposed will cause that problem. Back the blade in the holder till it will not cut at all, and then go from there. Just a hair out until it cuts. Then raise your force to make deeper cuts, not cutting thru the wax paper backing., and barely a mark on the wax paper backing. Make sure the blade holder hasn't broken or have a crack in it. Nothing more that I can think of.

Try a different trial of cutting software. Did you by any chance choose a different cutter brand in your cutting software? Did you ever calibrate the cutter to the software in cutter scale? Make squares and measure them.

The carriage rollers are on the carriage head that holds the blade holder. Nothing to pick apart. Make sure they are firmly down in the track. Make sure nothing is in the track and that the carriage moves smoothly along the track. Make sure nothing is in the blade holder. like tiny pieces of vinyl. Is the cutter on a stand? Make sure it is all level. Wildgoose is talking about the grit rollers which are below the pinch rollers.

We are just volunteers here. There are many threads and posts. here that you can read. But the main thing is getting the blade depth correct. Then you adjust the rest of the settings.

too hard to see on that color of vinyl and angle of picture. try making some small rectangles with the rectangle tool and see if you can get them correct. With blade offset and overcut. Also Calibrate your cutter first to your software. Cut a smaller square like 3" x 3" and make sure it is exactly 3" x 3" after cutting. That cutter scale is in Vinyl Master
