    disappointed

I just purchased a vinyl cutter from US cutter and so far I've spent 3-4 hours attempting to figure this thing out. US Cutter has some bizarre log in system for requesting assistance-I'm not wasting more time by filling out their form to ask questions on their product. I just spent several hundred dollars with them and one would think they would be accessible. If a US Cutter rep wants to try to help me out I can be reached at 610-705-9645.
  2. I've been cutting hog wild, still with problems, but at least I'm cutting. So I've cut a handful of words only to find that when I was going to apply them to coroplast they seem to be backwards. It seems as though the cuts have been made for glass window application where they first appear backwards until one gets on the otherside and can read them correctly. I was desiring to apply to a solid backing. Can any one tell me if there's a setting that I may have wrong? Thank you.
  3. Banner John, thanks for that history on SignBlazer. It makes sense. I could tell something was a miss with the software.
  4. Hi Steve. Thanks for the uninstall/install procedure. I wouldn't consider attempting to cut simple words from vinyl doing signs. Eventhough you say your a programmer, I can rest assured I have more experience working with computers than you do. Go watch TV or something.
  5. yes, i will re-install wonder if uninstall is necessary
  6. you know Ken from US Cutter had me re-install yesterday; do multiple installations have to occur with these programs it's interesting in a weird way; it seems like the software has a lot of flaws; maybe the industry doesn't have enough users to warrant continual updates or "service packs" as the big guys do(MS); I ran into this issue with real estate forms that have gone from paper to computer via software co's; there are many flaws in the software and I feel like I should be paid $250/hour to be continually pointing out the flaws to these companies confused here
  7. ok, solution...of sorts As Jenny suggested, I checked(x) the mirror box in the cutting mode and while what then appears on screen is a reversible word (in this case) does cut correctly ( I can read the word correctly looking at the vinyl side (whereas it read correct through the white backing paper before) i don't understand though; does this mean I'll be creating words that read correctly (all I'm making are riders for my commercial real estate signs), then I'll go to cutting mode, look at them reversed, hit "cut" and they'll come out good?? this is crazy...... another thing, it seemed that the cutter took the vinyl from the other side after I checked (x) "mirror", but then switched to the original side...I know, it all sounds far-fetched, but i spent beaucoup hours working on this stuff with no real payoff yet. Thanks Jenny, Pittsburgh and last guy. Go Phillies!!!!
  8. however, if it's not checked you're suggesting to check it, correct?
  9. didn't even know about that mirror option and no, it's not checked....I was looking at another mirror option under "manipulation" this is unreal Thanks for your help
  10. just read through "Mirroring" in tutorial and it requires opening a dialogue box, etc and I definitiely did not do that. OK, I guess some day i may figure out I appreciate your guys attempt to help me out
  11. when one reads the words they appear to read correctly (through white backing) but when you go to apply you can see that's it's almost as if the sticky is on the wrong side
  12. file is only 9kb, vs max 0f 1024kb LEASE-1x4.SBD LEASE-1x4.SBD LEASE-1x4.SBD LEASE-1x4.SBD
  13. system is not taking file..says I took too long or file is too big....god nothing is straightforward appearance was normal on screen
  14. I'm not sure; when i clicked the mirror button it puts 2 lines on screen and seems to flip image, but then turns off; I only fooled with that when you mentioned it not sure how to post a file; i'll look and if it's wasting too much time I think I'm re-boxing this who thing and sending back to US Cutter; this just shouldn't be this difficult! Thanks.
  15. after I applied transfer paper, i went to affix my words to coroplast and noticed that if I take off the white paper backing first and then hinge over top and rip off transfer paper, the words are reading reversed in some fashion either right to left or the letters are flipped whereas the 3 prongs of the letter "E" normally point to the right, they are pointing to the left, reversed.

Ken at US Cutter called me personally and helped me solve my problems. This was customer service at its highest and restored my faith in them and my next purchase will be from them. Thanks again Ken!!!

I'm probably up to 6 hours of wasted time now with no success and that much closer to returning the product; I shouldn't have to confer a forum to get my purchase working; it shouldn't be this way!
  19. All "the veterans' at this game seem to have an answer; how about the machine just sucks-no wonder it's the cheapest on the market. One doesn't even get software with it!
  20. OK, not buying a Procut than!!!!
