I agree Billy... The Refine is a Great Product for the money, Its not a Roland or a Graphtec, but then, I dont want to pay upto 4 times as much just for it to be silent... My Refine will do just about ANYTHING that any other machine will do... I feel that Munoz problem is probably software related, and not hardware related... It could also be shipping damage because I know that when shipping UPS, it doesnt matter to them if there is a fragile sticker or not... (I used to work there as an unloader)... I feel that I had problems with my cutter, all I wouild have to do is contact Marcell and he would be more than happy to resolve ANY issue that I was having with my machine... But its like they always say... Bad news travels fast... There are hundreds of people that have had zero problems with there machines, and, just like everything else you will ever buy, There will be a bad apple or 2 in a bushel, Just like Rolands!

Ah okay... I never used that particular brand of material before... I only used ThermoFlex... That can be some pretty Pricy stuff... It sticks to the backing paper really well... How is the cost of the material you are using to the Thermoflex... 15 x 5 yd roll cost me about 35 bucks...

Plotter Computer Specs?
TaterNuts replied to silviera's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Im running Three Plotters off the same computer, I have a cheap walmart computer (emachines) running an AMD sempron 3000+ Processor with windows XP home edition, I upgraded the 512 ram with an additonal sick of 1 gig ram... I can run all three machines at one time from the same computer and still have some resources avaliable... I use one plotter on the LPT port, another on the serial port and the new US Cutter (my favorite) on the USB serial convertor. -
Noisy??? This sucker is like a whisper compared to my Master Plotter... I have the R2... I guess I am just used to really noisy plotters

Using the plotter as a plotter
TaterNuts replied to cncartworks's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
You can just put the pen attachement in and send you drawing to the plotter for the plot... Make sure that you have stock (paper) big enough for your project... What software are you using for the design of the backyard project? -
Couldnt you just up the tension on the pinch rollers??? There are thumbscrews on the back...

My first Cutter was a sticka... I used to think that it was the greatest software, I guess i was just scared to become more advanced... Dr. Sticka is Very Very Very Feature limited, You can do SO much more on ANY other program... I would scrap the Dr. Sticka and go with something else
