Here are some of my work Truck/ Tow Vehicle

hmm... im not sure if it is just me but i think the letters on the front door may be a bit hard to read... I do not think anyone will be able to read the number off of the side.. which in my mind is the most important part of the whole thing.. as they say.. Bigger IS Better! You may want to simplify that a bit and use a higher contrast color combo.. otherwise, the rest looks very good!

    Another Laptop Skin

I covered the top of the laptop with matte black and then did a print screen from CHEESE screaming on YouTube.. traced and made him an outline and cut him out in silver for the top and black for the inside..
  6. Can you see if you can get some information from this company so we can deconstruct it and use it for ourselves?

    some vehicle lettering

dude.. you did it.. nice reworking of it!! I have a philosophy about getting work... give ONE away for free or 'at cost' on the street and you will get all of their friends and associates if you do a nice job,.. their neighbors will see the work you did and want some work done by such a generous sign person! got to get your name out somehow.. and if getting lots of paying jobs is not an option,... make an investment in a business that needs your help and it will come back to you ten fold.. I promise!

    I prefer wet to dry!

haha!! Don't you worry.. for you I would say start with wet application.. smaller/thin graphics are less pron to having bubbles in them so you do not need them as it is MUCH easier to move the bubbles out from under the vinyl when applying it, however, larger graphics or lettering wider than 8" in my opinion MIGHT need some liquid applied to help in the process if you are unsure.. when it comes down to it.. just use your best judgment on the matter and DONT OVERTHINK on it or you will just get frustrated and lose interest. While you are new, if they job is not too big bring an extra in case you mess up.. ALSO, practice on your own stuff, its free, plus you can be OK with bubbles and turns out to be a wonderful learning experience!!! WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

hey FBR.. I KNOW I did not charge right on this design... but tell me what you would have charged since you know the market... all of this was don from scratch for the most part, he had simple layout in mind. This was design and installed in 8 hours ... thanks!!!

    HELP!!!!!!!

I agree with Ken on this one.. we would not give away free products if we live on the money we bring in.. even if you did not know you needed the adapter, that is still unreasonable to give things away for free or at cost.. its $35.. come on.... just consider this.. if you were to buy a high end plotter that already worked with Mac.. you would pay untold amounts more than what you will have to pay all together..

    software - SignCut X2 - any users??

it does not.. i bought mine over a year ago and still using it. you dont need it for anything but to import to and cut.. you dont do any design work with it.. not sure with the Mac.. on your own there
  19. Well I did not mean NOT at functions at home or away.. I meant outside of school events or to family etc.. Tear-Away banners, wooden signs for football or for cheerleaders or something would be cool.
  20. So I am doing some stuff for a car in town here and they want me to do something on the wall.. SO.. what I was thinking.. if a number of folks want to come up with something I will see if he is cool with the design and then put it up.. this can be like a community effort type thing! THANKS!

  22. a sandwich board with the information neatly placed on it would be a great sales tool when approaching schools or businesses for that matter about starting something like this. The information, layout and feel of the whole thing needs to be professional and easily editable to be used by each of our businesses. Needs to be a quick copy and paste to outfit the forms, fliers, and other printable items with your logos.
  23. Again, I say we(as a whole) need to develop a sign bible to go by for pricing, general FAQs, guides, instruction manuals and/or other important information used and needed day-to-day to make our businesses work more efficiently.
  24. I edited the first comment to suit your question..
  25. Ryne - good pricing.. can you put the formula out for everyone to copy down please? thanks.. And I agree with Ryne on this one.. I would charge around $250 - $300 myself. Remember to up-sale more colors to your customer to squeeze some more out of them! Good luck!
