Dakotagrafx replied to Worble7's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
I would bet that the post above the force wasn't reduced first and didn't start with too little blade working out - and broke the tip looks familiar from other post we have seen -

How to check used Graphtec
Dakotagrafx replied to WildCorral's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Should be a good solid unit unless he left it in an unseated shed for 2 Minnesota winters. In that case I would check everywhere for signs of rust. They are a precision device and should be handled as such. I am also a hard core graphtec user for many years -
use cactus wraps in stead of a mug press - the bottom and handles wick away the heat but in an oven the entire mug is heated evenly. part 2 is buy quality mugs - not the cheapest you can find as the coating has to be applied evenly for the product to come out evenly

on the adding material to the end - my guess is that you are not allowing enough material there when cutting your paper and the plotter needs enough past the end to find the marks - without enough the sensor that senses paper length will stop the feed before it gets to the marks - you can either add to the length or you can turn the sensors off

I have had 3 solvent printers and even with then doing daily maintenance themselves if left to sit without printing you will get clogged heads that don’t clear up if not used regularly. That is why I sold my last sp300i. We started going on vacations of 3 weeks or more and every time I would have to replace the black head at $700. I think the head on the bun is closer to $2000 so make sure you can keep it printing and willing to Rick board damage replacing the head yourself. If you can keep it working every couple of days to a week the. They work great for transfers. For me without the volume now I find it better for just farm it out

Personally I would tape it to make sure there is no stretching and protect it when applied. A 7 year cast is pretty thin and easily stretched . Just my 2 cents

even though altered - Harley Davidson protects their "shield" as part of their property pretty aggressively -

With the Ricoh sawgrass printer and ink, use Tex print-r it is made for the fast moving Ricoh with gel I got and won’t smear like other paper. Hope this helps. Even when printing onto specialty decal material the Tex print r is the right choice to get to that point. As far as using the decal paper , I have only seen one person years ago doing that as the cost is so high per decal compared to a solvent printer

Does the CE7000-40 Work with vinyl master DSR?
Dakotagrafx replied to stylesbykc's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
For the short time I had a ce7000 it ran on the drivers from my ce6000 it replaced -
cutter computer not changing, nor the other 2 but first impression on design computer is I like it. Pretty sure the Mac crowd will see some similarities. I customized some widgets, tested my graphtec pro studio, Corel, etc and everything seems happy so far. Keep in mind this is a machine with 8 core and ryzen7x , 64gb ram so it isn’t a stripped down model test.

no time to play as I have to get up early for 2 hr drive to dr. anyone else in the guinea pig status?
-
I would use Just In The Firestorm (Regular) - convert to outline - put a rectangle thru where the cut out is and punch it out - bada boom bada bing - close enough
-
wow - there is a blast from the past - about 10+ years ago I messed with a couple - can't remember which drivers back then but with you luck - they wasn't worth putting anyting into back then but I understand people that want to tinker

MacGrafix - You probably don't remember me....

welcome back -
By all means then, do what you do and let them worry about taking care of their equipment

it will cut regular vinyl fine - but I never used my roland printers for cutting other than contour cutting because my thinking was why put that wear and tear on the expensive machine - I always kept a graphtec for my vinyl cutting part of the business - until I sold the printers

working in the background to fight spammers and not answering questions as much for a couple more months these photos pretty well explains the reason to all the regulars you are doing a spectacular job helping everyone as usual

lotta work for a small bathroom, but don't plan on doing it again. guess I am getting to be an old bugger
-
application tape trick worked great - entering the home stretch we hope - changed out mind on the main bathroom flooring and waiting on new stuff to come in. whodathought application tape, and cutting 631 for layouts would be a part of a bathroom reno

Make sure you also install the usb chipset driver on the new computer so the plotter can communicate with whatever cutting software you use

Laserpoint 24 cutting in reverse
Dakotagrafx replied to kc6331's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Most of the older plotters work with the Roland pnc-1000 drivers. -
if you keep them printing like arty does that isn't a bad choice but when you leave on a transatlantic or transpacific cruise, just plan on a new printer when you get back lol
