MT871 will not talk to Vista
Dakotagrafx replied to danes73's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
looks like one for Kimon - my setup always used a virtual port on like com 7 . . . .have you had the cutter on when you did a reboot and it still won't find the cutter and talk? I used to use signblazer and that usually changed tot he correct port automatically after a reboot - having the cutter on and then starting signblazer -
personally I would look at a trade show or even visit a vendor to learn a little more before jumping right in. Just me but I think there might be a little bit of a learning curve to be proficient and productive. The race cars might not be as hard but you will want to do some vehicles with complex curves down the road. but then again if you are playing with someone else's money and they don't care how long it takes you to learn go for it

I use flexi pro for cutting with my ce5000-60 and love it. graphtec also has a program that lets you cut from corel draw -
I actually have purchased an extra holder for each of my machines I have had 1 for normal vinyl and one for metallics and reflective as the are harder on blades - I usually use a blade that doesn't do the extra fine detail good anymore for the reflective etc as it is still good enough for them. If you cut metallics and then go back to do some fine stuff you will find the blade usually wont do well

alignment issues

make sure there is no slop in the belt that runs the feed rollers another member had a similar problem that was traced back to too much play in the belt for these rollers -

+1 on 3m -
yes I do - the only change I make is I have one in a second blade holder that I use exclusively with reflective or metallics as they mess the blades up faster and I don't have to mess with adjusting for my regular vinyl after cutting them

Need Suggestion

I think that price is in dreamland - no offense but a cheap used 30" is going to run you 6-7000. If you find 2 let me know! -
