Yes! It is SO much easier! Buff it on before you remove the stencil. I let it sit for about 10 minutes then peel and wash by hand. I also have done a two par process that looks awesome if used in the right situation. For example I was doing initials for a guy who was a "3rd" of the same name in the family. I did a (little bit larger) roman numeral 3 in etch. Took off the stencil and left natural then put the next mask )with his initials) over the 3. Then colored the initials and removed and cleaned. The results where black initials with the roman 3 in the background left natural. Came out nice!

If using a laser engraver, I believe there is a cream you put on the metal before engraving and that creates the black color. For me, I use an air erasure for the etching then I use rub and buff for the color.

I thought it was just me not being able to navigate the forums like I could with the old system..... but I guess I have figured it out and am doing it right then.

so true! When I first started...... I would have loved the info you provided on this press. I got a bundle deal from US Cutter from day one and got stuck with the press they gave me. It did it's job that's for sure....... I worked it. In fact I sold it at almost what I paid for it. I do however love my fusion! What a great upgrade. Thanks to all the folks on the forum I believe I made a good investment.

already bit the bullet and got the fusion

How was your first year of running your sign business?
xpaperman replied to decalsdirect954's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I didn't mean to get into the tshirt business. I just wanted to do some signs and banners.... on a small scale. Part time..... didn't really need the money, I just wanted something to do in my spare time........ I do mostly shirts! You will be surprised how many people want custom shirts?!?! I do shirts for ..... family outings, vacations and reunions..... school class reunions and clubs, bar/restaurants, funny sayings, church functions and most of all Parent shirts for youth sports! Moms eat that up.... a shirt with their kids name and number on them! You will be surprised how (once the word gets out) many shirts you will be doing. Heck, your still in school.... High school yet? You could talk to the school.... do the band shirts, football jerseys and helmets, volleyball, cheer, softball baseball.... the list just goes on. Plus, with a heat press you can even do bows! That's right, cheer bows.... (I have done my share..... not on purpouse but when work falls in your lap....hey) Be patient, always have a few business cards handy and never miss an opportunity to let people know what you do. I am not a good salesman so i am usually subtle..... I drop off samples..... 1 or 2 key contacts can change the game! I got lucky and my first customer was like hitting the lottery! -
I was on the fence of buying the press.....

HTV & the Titan 2

I cut a lot of htv with my T2 as well. I, have also experienced what you described. I not sure what causes it other than what you have described. What I try and do to combat it is not try and start so close to the two edges..... I move my carriage in a bit more and feed through a little bit more vinyl than my other to cutters. It seems to help some but not always. Also, if using scrap and the leading edge seems to not be laying flat.....watch out!
