Mailbox was my second decal...lol

Why not just cut 3 new "W's" from some scrap and overlay the clipped W's?
-
My attention span limits me to around 5"x as the smallest I want to weed. Some of the significant details end up being .5mm.

Some of them, the one's you like (Chevelle etc), are from an artist named Bill Wood. A few I made and a few are individually licensed pieces I have collected.

Here's some fun weeding practice. Made these for a border around a wall. They are 5.25" tall.. Here's just a few. So far I have 15 feet done 15 to go.

Thanks..I have a Camaro vector license too. ;-)

The GX-24 has a GREAT menu for set up compared to some entry level machines. Material, size, down force and speed are all easy to set up. It even measures the material for you..too small and it spits it out though..otherwise great machine for the money Cool work BTW..looks like you have a customer base already for your work!!

So the basket was your design and the second one is from someone else ? I will "play" with other art I don't have a license for but won't sell or give the file away. I would not poach someone else's work and I think you were in the right. The money in this industry is in the design and intellectual property. I used to do video work and spent way too much time chasing people using my clips in violation of, or worse yet without, the license agreement. If we steal from one another..we all loose. Hell, I will sign my work over if someone asks..most of the time. Just don't take it and call it your own. Tell them to pound sand and/or get the license to use. I wouldn't balk either. BTW..the large car 631 wall vinyl I don't own. I will never sell that as it would bring the average customer to tears to install. It's on my wall above my own work station.

You'll love the GX-24. It's a precision machine and do the same intricate cuts over and over at a good speed. like these.. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/leadermon/IMG_5084.jpg[/img]

The main thing(s) with 631..it's a flat finish and it comes off without pulling the paint. Well, according to Oracal, it comes off within 2 years without damage.

I used regular transfer tape on a couple test pieces and found the transfer tape wouldn't pull small floating details and thin strips from the base. The high tack does. Wall words, solids and larger joined pieces would work well with most transfer tapes. Too much tack and application to a textured surface is impossible as the application tape is stronger than the vinyl adhesion on the textured surface with only a small contact area. The two above application tapes work "just right" for high detail cuts on textured walls. Passing this tip on from the Signs 101 forum.

631 is best with a high tack tape like HT-55 and or AT60. HT-55 was Oracal's answer to applying the 631 vinyls. Here's from Oracal's website: "ORATAPE

Low tack tape is a disaster wrapped in futility with 631 on a textured surface! Been there...done that.

The key is to use a lot of trial and error with making the vector. A clean starting image helps..ALOT. I use Inkscape, Corel and Illustrator..I find each has strengths and weaknesses depending on image type and detail. Play with the settings, experiment and be patient. 2 years ago I couldn't vector even a simple logo
