    Cutting two colors in SB

here ya go... thought id make it its own post... http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,7035.0.html
  2. alright, this may take a few times for me to explain... here is an example of a 4 layer graphic i did (Yes, only using photoshop and sign blazer) after looking at the pic, you can see the gray is the base layer, then black, then white, then red. I took the image into photoshop (yes, i know this is a copyrighted image. I didnt produce this to sell, only as an experiment. Anyone who has done a 4 layer graphic knows how much of a pain in the you know what it is!) So, after bringing it into photoshop, I made rectangles at each corner of the image as registration marks, and saved the image. I then color all of the image (the gray, black, white, and red) black. I will explain shortly why i color it black. Also, I ensure the registration marks are still intact, and save it as a psd with a name you will recognize (like, when something is done, i save it as "111GRAYlobo.psd). I then go back to the original pic, and color everything gray white (erase it, pretty much) and color everything else (black, white, red) black. ensure registration marks are still intact, and save as a psd (i.e. 111BLACKlobo.psd). now i return to the original image, color the black and gray white (erasing it) and color the other colors (red and white) black. save it as 111WHITElobo.psd or whatever you want. make sure registration marks arent lost. Now go back to the original image, only save the red, erase everything else, make the red black, save it (yes, make sure registration marks are still there) So, now you have layer 1 (gray) layer 2 (black) layer 3 (white) and layer 4 (red) all saved as psd's, and each image is saved in the color of black. open sign blazer. import the gray layer. at the top of signblazer, go to Image>Mode>Monochrome... leave it at 50 (or experiment. I have found 50 is just fine) and click "OK." now select Image>vectorise then when the next screen pops up, click ok. Now, you will have 2 layers. the monochrome layer and the vectorised layer. delete the monochrome layer (the box surrounding whatever it is you have on the screen is larger if the monochromed image is selected. Around the vectorised layer, it is a tight box.) Now, you can right click on the vectorised image, and select size to see its actual size once it is cut. You can adjust this if you are wanting it larger or smaller here... IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! If you adjust the size here, you'll have to adjust the size at this step for ALL OF THE LAYERS or it wont fit together lol. now you have it the size you want, install your gray vinyl, cut it out! repeat for each layer with the IMPORT, MONOCHROME, VECTORISE, DELETE MONOCHROME IMAGE, ADJUST SIZE, CUT OUT for each layer. then when you are done cutting and weeding each layer, transfer tape the top layer, then the next lower layer, so on and so forth til you get to the base. Whew.... For that really long response, I accept donations to my paypal! lol.... Bring on the questions lol...

  6. I am in the midst of a job I need to finish by tomorrow, and NEED help. My cutter is just plain unresponsive! I open sign blazer. I get my image ready to cut, like i have done hundreds of times before... click on "cut" and... nothing. I switched out the usb cord. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. there is just no communication. I really need to get this job done asap and time is tickin away. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I have a laptop with Vista on it that I will install signblazer on and all that if need be... dont have my original serial number nearby but can probably find it in a frantic search lol so, any suggestions?

    Cutting two colors in SB

I dont mean to sound like a hot shot or anything, but all that vectorizing stuff isnt neccessary. I have had my cutter and signblazer for just under 2 mths and have already kicked out a few 4 layer graphics using only photoshop and signblazer. nothing else.
