I purchased the frame at Hobby Lobby ($20 on their 50% off sale, which happens often) and applied the vinyl to the front of the glass. The white backing is actually a fitted piece of matte white vinyl (still attached to the backing).

Thanks! I appreciate that...it's simple, too...just a little time consuming from design to application.

BCOJdecals replied to MotivatedNY's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
Haven't really messed with SCAL, but I did notice something...probably nothing, though...but the pic on the right seems a little (albeit very little) bigger than the one on the left...might be an extra layer. See my pic...the spaces in the one on the right are definitely bigger, even in the pic where the two are welded.- 5 replies

Just cut it with your cutter...even if the tracking is off a bit, it's still going to cut the shape that's programmed in...even if it is slightly off as compared to the edges of the waste.

Yeah, this stuff is pretty great for clear, but I also switched to paper a long time ago.

That was pretty cool. Seems very time consuming, though.

I've wondered this myself...there's got to be a video on YouTube about it...

Good idea...if you have Photoshop, add an outer glow to it of the same color. Then, if you have Illustrator, try using image trace on it with the outer glow already applied.

I've used it on 651 before...actually used to use it all the time on 631 and 651...works fine.

That's about as loud as mine gets (very quiet in my opinion)...be glad you didn't buy a cutter with a stepper motor.

mark-s is correct, as usual...it's Rock Salt. The "L" in both words is uppercase. The rest of the letters are lowercase. You can download for free commercial use here.

40...and almost retired. Looks like one more year-long tour to Korea in late January, then back to the states for me...couple more years, then I'm OUT!

You can pretty easily design your own school...here are some Harry Potter-like fonts you can use: http://www.mugglenet.com/downloads/fonts/index.shtml

Ebay shut me down indefinitely yep im about done with em.
BCOJdecals replied to Pcrat's topic in Off Topic Section
Yep, I was shut down as well. My fees to ebay are around $150/month, and I've been making a little over $1000 a month for some time. I have 100% positive feedback. I called as well and they wouldn't review my account or tell me why other than to say that I'm not offering tracking and something about my sales (not a copyright issue). Well tracking on an envelope is actually certified...and that costs $2.20 or around there...customers do not purchase tracking at that cost, and if I pay it, there goes my profit. Ebay can "s" my "d." Gonna put all my ads on Etsy and look up some other sites. -
Looks like great fun, but in reality...it's freakin' insane! haha

Ok who invited the chinese to the direct sales party
BCOJdecals replied to Dakotagrafx's topic in Off Topic Section
Not this guy. And free shipping... -
I use the same setup as you...same cutter and software...however, I don't create my files in Illustrator. I create them in Make-the-Cut, export as .eps, then open with Illustrator to send to CM3...no issues whatsoever.

Attached it to a PM for you.

Copyright questions for closed business???
BCOJdecals replied to ddprinting's topic in General discussion
You'd have to do a copyright search (or Trademark, probably) to see if it's still open or if it's dead. -
Definitely an old roll...had the same thing happen with a roll of 631 Gentian Blue. Chuck it...you'll find it's very difficult to lift the backing off as well once you have transfer tape on it.

Hey guys, I've been using Oracal 651 for most everything, but for the longest time I've been wanting to try 3M...can anyone tell me which 3M vinyl is comparable to 651 and where the best place to get it from might be (online)? Thanks in advance.
