MH 721 - not closing cuts

I don't believe the MH series has an overcut option built in. Don't think they have offset either, or if they do, I never found it.

    Vinyl vs. Rear Window Wiper

If the design is large enough that it's pretty much blocking the window from use, the wiper will likely never be turned on anyway.

    Was this a good trade?

Wonder why would you need to be in the aviation field to buy it? Not like it's dangerous or anything, it's just vinyl, why couldn't your average person buy it for what ever use they wanted?

    Vinyl vs. Rear Window Wiper

Regarding the laws, it varies slightly from state to state, and type of vehicle, but in general it's allowed. There are several vehicles that don't have rear windows, or you can not see out them for one reason or another. But to be on the safe side you'd want to check your state laws.

    Material for backlit signs

FYI, Plexiglass and Lexan are both brand names. The name of the actual materials are Polycarbonate(Lexan) and Acrylic(Plexiglass).

Placement of vinyl for an exterior church sign.

Even doing that pretty sure the light is not going to shine through. As a test though, take a piece of vinyl and put a flashlight behind it. If you can see the light great, go ahead and use that vinyl but don't think you're going to see the light like you want.

Font looks like it might be Erbaum Medium

    can someone please vectorize this

What he said. However, not to encourage theft, but have you tried vectoring it yourself and if so, what program are you using, and problems were you having. This is nearly the ideal image to auto trace. A bit too much detail in some spots for an auto trace to get exact, but you can get a pretty decent trace.

    Acrylic Sign

Acrylic and Fiberglass are two very different things. There are several fiberglass specific paint removers. But you are likely dealing with Acrylic which is going to be difficult getting the paint off without etching the acrylic or making it cloudy. Do you know what kind of paint was used? That will make a difference as to what work. There are also some amazing acrylic cleaners/polishers out there that can be used to restore the acrylic if you do get the paint off. In any case, I suspect it will be cheaper in the long run to just replace the acrylic rather than trying to clean it.

Need a bit of help going insane....

    Nice!
  12. In theory, if you have multiple comm ports you can control multiple cutters with one PC. In practice there may be some comm/software issues that prevent you from running two cutters at the exact same time. If that's the case you could still have two cutters setup and loaded with media and then just move the comm cable between the cutters.

Need a bit of help going insane....

You're easiest option would be to make the decal a dual color decal and create a dark color background, an oval perhaps, that circles both figures.
  14. Read up on the mailing yourself thing, it's a myth that does not hold up against any legal action.

    Cleaning up edges...

I'm not the greatest at it, or very quick but I've been pleased with my results. I mostly use the Bezier tool and drop nodes at key points of the design to get an initial ruff shape. Then I go back and drag the edges of the design to the desired location and add additional nodes as necessary. I do all this with the fill set to an odd color, usually an ugly yellow or green, and with 50% transparency so that I can see the image I'm trying to trace.

    Manipulate > Smooth Corners

In Inkscape the dynamic offset will smooth the corners automatically. Not sure how to do it automatically in SB, if it's even an option.

    Single path is double cut

xyz, to get the full circle like you want, in step 3, do not include the red circle when you union the brown, green and blue. Then duplicate the red and do a difference between the red and blue. If you were to slide the blue out a little you should see that it is now the shape you want. You can now either take the difference between the black and the red, or just leave it as is and when you send it to the cutter cut all 3 colors at the same time.

    Inkscape to vinyl cutter help

Judging from the title of the clip I'm guessing the movie is Five Easy Pieces. ha!

    Single path is double cut

Not sure why you're getting the vertical lines, unless when you pull the file into SB it is closing the object, but what is drawn in Inkscape should cut like you want. That being said, the more reliable way would be to use the union and difference to make all the individual objects a single object. I'm am unable to see the images posted by dcbevins but here is my guess as to what you intended the cut to be along with step by step instructions of how I achieved the look in Inkscape. *note, just noticed my step 4 is incorrect, it should read difference between black and blue. mask.svg

I've never understood SPF rating on clothes. I've never gotten a sun burn underneath my clothes.

In your Inkscape drawing, remove the stroke color, and add a fill color, that will give you a better idea of what the plotter will produce. Also viewing in wire frame will show you exactly what the plotter will do.

This is pretty cool. It's basic plotter tech, with the ability to hold fountain pins. http://axidraw.com

    Unable to paste ito forums

I vaguely recall this being discussed in the past but am not having any luck finding the topic. The only thing I really remember was the suggestion to use Chrome rather than IE, unfortunately that is not an option. Does anyone have a solution to the problem of not being able to paste text/links when posting here when using IE 11. Or for that matter, does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me? I don't have this problem on other forums I visit, so it's something unique to this one.
