  1. If you're just doing a solid color, it'd be easier and faster to just buy some HTV in the desired color.
  2. Only thing I can offer for the .net issue is to reinstall it. Double check which version python is looking for, I do know just because you have the latest version doesn't always mean it will work and you sometimes also have to have an older version installed as well.
  3. installing inkcut is not as bad as it sounds and is a pretty decent free program. You should also be able to cut directly from Inkscape, under the Extensions menu, pick Export, then Plot. From there you'll need to setup your connections and plotter settings then hit apply and inkscape will send the commands to the cutter. If you have the driver and comms setup correctly it should start cutting. This is not a full cutting program like Inkcut but it works well enough for me as a hobby.

    titan 3 blade holder

I could be wrong, but I don't believe you need a different blade holder for a different blade. Most cutters use a single blade holder and you can then put any blade in it. Some people us multiple blade holders just to make switching between blade types easier.

    New to software...need help please

The MH do not have a registration reader. It's just a "dumb" plotter.

    New to software...need help please

I'd take the mountain design, duplicate it, add an outline to it, convert the outline to a path, select the new path, Break Apart the path, then union it together, then do a difference with it and the flag design. Sounds more complicated than it really is, but once you get the process down this would take about 2 minutes to do it. All the "tools" you need are under the path menu in Inkscape. Try searching for videos that discuss path union/difference and it should get you started down the right path. Feel free to ask questions on here. I use Inkscape for pretty much everything I do and will be happy to help you through it.

on the side in your tools, you should have an icon that looks like a box overlapping another box. If your version has it, that is where it would be. If not, I'd get Inkscape, it's a very powerful free vector editing program. There's not much that it can't do. Regarding the cut itself, I'd suggest making the windows shape a bit larger so that you'll have a little bit of extra that you can trim exactly to fit the window. It's hard to get the exact cut you need on a value cutter so that it matches the window perfect.

    Stacking Cuts on MH 721

Is the image too big and the program is doing some weird tiling that is causing the problems?
  9. Inkscape can do it as well, although not as easily as Signblazer or VM.

Brand Of Parchment Paper Available In UK For Layering

have you looked in a grocery store? Not sure how big they sell, but I think here in the state the stuff I buy is 18" wide.

1st Gen SC and SCAL 5 Pro

The blade settings might not have been the cause of this problem, but the half credit card is way too much exposed and getting the correct blade setting will make your cuts even better.

Help required with edge lit up glass

Yeah, with something that big I don't think edge lighting it going to get you the desired effect. Probably going to have to use back lighting.

871-MK 2 Will not cut only test mode

What program are you using? How are you connected to the cutter, usb or serial? Sounds like you simply are not talking to the cutter.

    SCAL on Windows?

If you have AI already all you really need is VM cut. You can do all your design work in AI then export it as an eps and cut it with VM.

    Vinyl Spooler

I've not looked too closely, but I believe the spooler files are just the cut info, not the actual design that you could go back and edit. You should be saving your designs as you create them, the spooler is just for a quick redo of a cut and not intended to be long term storage.

    Wood finish over vinyl

    No, it's an inside thing.
  17. If possible you'd be doing yourself a favor to get away from the dxf file format. Several cutting programs can open them, but they never seem to work as well as an eps. dxf files seem to have disconnected nodes quite often, so while it looks good on the screen, the cutter is lifting and dropping the blade unnecessarily and you can end up with cuts that have a lot of points still connected.

    Wood finish over vinyl

I have a little treasure box for my boy that I put a map decal then polyurethane over. It has held up well.

Best Transfer paper for Matte black etc

If it's ripping the backing paper I would guess you are cutting too deep. Follow Mz Skeeter's instructions for setting the blade depth, posted a few hundred times here, then if you're still having issues it's likely a process problem.
  20. No, but it doesn't have a specific area to keep the roller out of and it's right in the middle where you would think would be a good spot for a roller. Either do not use the middle roller, or be sure it is actually over the grit roller and not in the "dead zone".
  21. The solenoid doesn't control how deep the cut is, it controls the pressure applied to the blade. The length of blade sticking out of the blade holder controls how deep the cut is.

    Strange usage question.

Reflective stuff and heat transfer gets weird. You'd think it'd reflect the light and keep things cooler, and it does to some degree, however, it also reflects the heat inside the car, back into the car. Where as black while it does get hot in the sun, it does not reflect the heat in the car back into the car, so black can actually result in cooler interiors.

    Who did this one

Reminds me of Captain Dave from The Bob and Tom Show. "Arrr cheese sandwiches 8 bucks, 20s and 50s only. NO change!"
  24. You actually have two options in Inkscape now. There is a plot function that is built into Inkscape, and there is InkCut, which is a separate program that can be integrated into Inkscape. The instructions to install InkCut on windows are not very clear but I was able to get it setup over the weekend. I didn't try to actually cut anything with it but first impressions of it, it felt rather clunky. But it's one of only 2 free cutting programs I know of, SB being the other, so can't complain too much.

Cutters that work well from Inkscape

Hmm, I might have to look into Inkcut more. Last time I looked at it, it was a linux only thing.
