Wireless Plotting
darcshadow replied to mactube's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
As I understand it the AirPort USB connection is for printing only and not a full implementation of USB protocol. You might try a wireless USB hub that supports the full protocol such as something like this from IOGEAR, http://www.iogear.com/product/GUWIP204/. Another option would be to get a cheap computer with a wireless card in it and put it next to the plotter then just remote into the computer to send your cut jobs to the plotter. -
Did you try opening it, or importing it. They are not the same thing in SignBlazer. SB can only "open" SB files but it can "import" ai, eps, and a few others I think.
-
What program are you using that has a send to SB button?
-
What exactly are you doing and what sort of error are you getting?

Is a decal same as Tshirt trademark.
darcshadow replied to JessXEmoji's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
For the most part, if you can see it, it's copyrighted. Outside of special circumstances everything anyone creates is copyrighted automatically. Although it doesn't mean much unless it is also registered. -

Keep in mind there is a difference between trademark and copywrite. You can violate copywrite laws without violating trademark law. -

If I remember correctly I believe Apple paid the Beatles something like a billion dollars. I wouldn't say Apple won so much as the Beatles settled. -
Thanks. It is edge lit with some strip LEDs. The vinyl was put on before and it was used as my etch mask, I just didn't pull off the bike portion when I was done etching. If you look at the back side you can see where the vinyl isn't shiny anymore from the blasting process but it looks good from the front and that's all that matters.

I like the utensiles on the wall but, FYI, that's not the proper setting for them. Fork should be on the left, knife next to the plate on the right and spoon to the right of it. Spoon on top of the plate should have the handle to the right. At least that's the "traditional" setting.

The basket ball jersey thing is a neat idea.

If you go the UPS as a surge protector option check the details of the UPS. Some of them don't isolate the circuites like CPMorgan describes. Some are a switching type, meaning they just pass the AC through and charge the batteries. Then when power is lost it switches over and produces AC power from the batteries.

Not quite a motorcycle, not quite a car, just badass...
darcshadow replied to knucklehead's topic in Off Topic Section
Will be interesting to see how the Slingshot performs. It appears to have very little weight over the rear wheel which is a problem the T-Rex faces and it has the engine back there. It'd be kind of fun at a track I guess, but that's a problem as well. Most car orgs don't want it on the track with them because it's so small and low to the ground and bike orgs don't want it on the track because it's to big and too much like a car. At least that's the situation with the T-Rex around here. -

darcshadow replied to knucklehead's topic in Off Topic Section
That's basically the same as the T-Rex which has been around for several years. I believe all 3 wheeled vehicles in the states are classified as a motorcycle. This also means the vehicle does not have to meet all the crazy safety requirements of a car. -
What you're wanting would be slices in the graphic itself. Say for example you have a cicle you want to lay onto a dome. In order to get it to lay correctly you'd need to cut some pie shapes out of the circle then line up the edges when you lay it on the dome. Something like this. There is probably some high end 3D modeling software out there that would do what you're wanting but there's no easy way.

Might also try doing a copy paste from inkscape into signblazer. That's pretty much how I do all mine anymore. Been having issues lately with exporting eps from inkscape and opening in SB.

The air eraser has a hopper on top that holds a few ounces of material. It's about enough to do a glass/mug but anything larger you have to pause and refill the hopper as needed.

I'm surprised the vinyl glows so well with edge lighting of the acrylic. Very cool.

need some combine, grouping, break apart curve help
darcshadow replied to arcticmonster's topic in Corel Draw
I don't have Corel either, but if the lines are now curves or paths, there should be a node points at the intersections of the "lines" If you delete the four nodes that make up the "white" square it should then become a black square. -
Lexan is a trademark name for polycarbonate.

Funny you post this, I was just watching a YouTube video of a guy doing a two color plexiglass carving with a CNC machine.

There are many mason jar manufactures. The logos for all of which would be copywrited and/or trade marked. That being said, you can probably find what you want on brandsoftheworld.com

It will work, but you'll get annoyed with it rather quickly. You want a larger tank, I don't think I'd go much smaller than 5gallon, and a higher CFM. .51SCFM is really low. I have an 8gallon compressor from Harbor Freight. With a full tank I can usually do a complete glass or two before the compressor kicks on. I'm not sure what the airflow of the air eraser is, but my compressor does 4.5scfm at 90 psi and I've not had any problems with it. Also, keep in mind, you can get away with compressors that have low CFM, you will just have to pause when the compressor kicks on and let the tank recharge. A small 1 gallon tank and really low CFMs like the one you linked to you will be pausing quite a lot and it will get annoying pretty quickly.

SVG is an open format, meaning anyone can use it. It's favored by free programes like Inkscape because there are no fees involved in it's use.
