    McCormick-Deering.

VM does that stupid thing with auto backup files as well. I made a batch script that runs each time I start my computer to find and remove them all.

Hello guys, and a warm hello from Puerto Rico!!

I'm a big Inkscape fan. I just do this as a hobby but it has been able to do everything I've needed. You can even cut directly from it, although it's cutting is very basic. I personally would stick with your current cutting software for cutting and use Inkscape for design. Design software is really more about personal preference than anything else.

    Cutting direction question

The cut is coming out exactly as it is shown on your screen. If the top of the A is the toward the top of the arrow then the top of the A will be at the edge of the vinyl as the cut starts. Or another way to think of it, the cutter will be at the bottom of the arrow when the cut is done and if you look at it from the front of the machine you are looking at it upside down.
  4. Are you saving as an SVG file? VinylMaster has issues with opening them, they don't always come through correct. If you save the file as an eps then open it in VM it should come out correct.

    Convert SBD files to EPS

If you loose sbd though you'd still have to recreate the layout, not as much work as recreating an image, but still work. Easier to just save it as eps in the first place then open it in the future with what ever program you like.
  6. Keep in mind though, even if you do advance after the plot you still can not send another job right away. It'll advance to the origin and start cutting over the first design. You have to be sure to hit the reset origin button after each job.

    Hello from tx

If you must stay on a Mac, you could give Inkscape a try. It's a great free design program and has some rudimentary cutting capabilities.

    MH 721 not cutting correctly

My guess would be static build up from such a long run, which the pen/paper test would confirm or rule out. Do you have the vinyl/stand grounded?

    Clear reflective vinyl???

I don't think something can be reflective and clear at the same time.

    Text to curve surface

Seems like there is a spreadsheet on the forums someplace with all the calculations. I'll see if I can find it, if not, I do have one at home I can post.

    SignBlazer Registration marks

I don't believe that is an option in SignBlazer. Just create your own + or diamond, or what ever design you like and place them where you like.

My daughter wants a T shirt

I did say yet. Although I use VM for HTV cutting and Inkscape for my other cuts so I leave the mirror option in VM checked all the time. So if I keep my work process unchanged I should be able to avoid the mirror mistake.

Cut blade -- right or left?

There a question here? Having it on the right just means that you will have your gap at the other side, the size of the cutter would still be the same.

My daughter wants a T shirt

I haven't made the mirror mistake yet but I have cut on the wrong side of the vinyl a few times. Took me a while to get use to cutting on the non glossy side.
