I just bought a PrismJet Extra and hoping I made a decent purchase. The owner just had it fully serviced and it's suppose to be all ready to go. Paid $1525, by time I get it to me I'll have just shy of $1900 in it. Thanks! This is what was advertised.... This printer was maintained daily and serviced regularly by professional technician provided by service contract. Before we listed it on eBay we had our service provide replace any and all questionable parts and ensure that everything is working properly. Included in the work done was replacing: 2 pumps 1 cap 9 dampers 2 print heads 1 cap assembly. All nozzles are firing and dampers are clog free.

With the mass amount of spammers registering and flooding the forums with posts, maybe the registration process needs to be changed. Require approval? Or something to stop these idiots.

Been trying to get a hold of him since the middle of last week. No phone, email, facebook, or PM on here.

Private matter. I believe Troy got it handled. Thank you for the response.

I really NEED to hear from him. Troy states he out of the shop and won't return his calls or messages either.

Did I sell myself short?
haulin replied to BrianMaruska's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Look at it this way, $8-10 in materials and maybe 2.5 hours total time production and install. If you could so the exact same and work only 30 hours a week, you would make 134,000 in a year after material costs. Not bad for a one man show. -
Thankfully I don't currently drive a Chevy, and besides I use duct tape instead of vinyl

Cost wise, it's what maybe $8 worth of vinyl and mask? Maybe 3 hours of work. Sounds ok for a home hobby type business. -
It was the vinyl just saying get me off this Taurus

Bet your eyes were crossed by time you were done, nice job!

I have a wide format Epson desktop printer that I put a continues ink system on that I tried. It's the type of ink that they use that is the issue. The Epson uses pigment ink and while I have found vinyl to print on and the proper laminate if it get exposed to water it seeps in between and causes an issue. For indoor use it does work fine though.

Got my vote.

The cost of a printer makes "part time or hobbyist" tough. I tossed around the idea of a Roland BN-20 to do decals, stickers, small printed signs, etc but it's still a $9000 investment. After a bunch of homework and all the pro's and con's I just bought a Roland PC600. It may not be fast, it may not be the most cost effective method, but for the money it get's me started in the world of print. Plus I have a good local source to outsource larger printed jobs and they are very affordable.

34" sign from 24" vinyl? What's the best way to go about it.
haulin replied to arcticmonster's topic in General discussion
Either use tiling or if the text is less than 24" wide and you can break it up, rotate it and take advantage of the roll length. -
A local business can if the want get close to the higher volume dealers. I paid $1550 otd for my Graphtec CE-5000-60. That was cutter, stand, extra blade, application fluid, and a 2 rolls of vinyl (one 24x10yd and one 10-12" cutoff I needed). I already had Lxi Master Plus, Corel X6. And upgrading Lxi is almost free, spend $200 @ SW and you get a free upgrade to the next level. So just a few supply and accessory orders and you done. I can now say I happily done with ordering from them too.

That is just funny. I just spend the big money and enclose a piece of paper with instructions, lol.

You could do that sicker in two layers, easy. As far as clicking and buying, I would go out and look at the different versions of Flexi and see what level will do what you want. I started Lxi apprentice (signwarehouse house brand of flexi) and quickly learned I needed to upgrade and am now up to the top tier of it master plus. I found another software company that does a program called VinylMaster, downloaded the demo and really like the program. They have over a 100 videos on youtube to teach you how to use the program. Guess my point is do some homework and look around. And while US Cutter is a good company I chose to buy mine local for the support, if I have an issue or need some guidance it's a short drive and they are more than happy to help. Plus I got a smokin' deal on my CE5000-60.

Something that prints and cuts is WAY more than your budget. Now as for a cutter, I tried a couple of the "off" brands and I learned my lesson. I sold my last one and bought a Graphtec and could not be happier. But by time you by the cutter and then get to a decent level of software that actually does more than basic lettering you'll surpass $2000. And if you want to do print and cut you'll be over 10k if you want new.

GraphTec 5000-60 not happy with cutting qaulity
haulin replied to BobbyD1120's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Has to be something setup wrong. Mine is spot on and was hands down a HUGE upgrade from my R31. I'm still using Lxi (master plus) too. As far as setup went for me it was almost plug and play, couple test cuts to get the force dialed in, and its been doing great. -
First time with US Cutter. and im pretty sure the last
