So the com port is on the left and the USB on the right. Good luck.

On the right side of mine, looking from the front there is a serial and a USB port side by side. The USB looks like a square with the top 2 corners cut off at a 4 degree angle. Let me know if you want me to take a photo so you can see how mine looks.

I am not an expert at this but mine worked perfect right out of the box with laptop and USB cable. I just followed the directions. Turn on your Pcut, then connect USB to laptop, then turn on laptop. Your laptop should see new hardware then install the driver from the CD. Once done go into your control panel, then system, then hardware, then device manager, and expand COM Port and if you only have on thing hooked up to USB and COM like I do it will be the only thing in the list. Then in signblazer click on cutter then setup and choose that port from the drop down. Mine happens to be on COM4 and I am running windows XP. I have attached a capture of the location of the COM PORT look up and of where you choose it in signblazer. Good Luck, Shawn

I just assumed since that end of the scale said 0 that that is where you start from. I did what jay2703 said and just ran it down the middle and reset the cutter to right edge of the vinyl and it has worked perfectly for all 5 signs today. So I think I have it licked. Thanks.

OK. I actually got this thing to cut the very first time I tried it and I even set the blade at the right depth but... when looking at the machine from the front the vinyl feeds through on the left side where the scale starts at 0. The problem I have is the cutter has the blade on the right so the furthest to 0 it can cut is at 7mm. So my first design, ya i went big, was 10" wide on 12" paper and when the cutter went all the way to the left to cut that part it hit the red button and stopped everything. So.... How do I set it up so that doesn't happen, it seems kinda odd that the scale starts at 0 but the cutter can't get lower than 7 cm. I thought I would tell it that the paper was 14" wide, even though it is 12", and just not put anything to cut on the last 2". But that is a work around and not a solution, so what am I missing? Here is the SBD. It has 3 logos on it but I want to cut the one in the upper right. So I would like to crop it to just that one and then size it up to 9". I assumed since it was vector before I brought it in that it would automatically be vector and not rasterized to a bmp. Thanks for looking at it for me. I downloaded the full version .exe and it all seems to have worked fine other than I don't get how to get from an eps to a file that actually shows up on the cutter preview. I asked that in another post.

Can anyone run me through the steps of how i get from an imported EPS to a vinyl sticker? I have attached the SBD and I want to print the one on the upper right. I imorted an eps that had 3 images on it. How do I crop to just the one I want to cut? How do I size it to 9" wide? When I click cutter it just shows as a big black rectangle with nothing on it. I want to cut it in white vinyl. If someone would be kind enough to open the SBD and then outline the steps you took to get it to be ready to print I would be most grateful. I just received my cutter today, woohooo, but when I put in the elements CD there isn't anything on it. In windows explorer no files are found. Looking at the disc itself it looks completely blank, can't see any lines on it at all. Please help. I am ready to get this thing set up and start cutting. Thanks, Shawn
