good to know. The cutter I'm looking at comes bundled with Corel X3, but I also have Gimp and Inkscape downloaded, but havent spent very much time using them. This leaves me with a blank slate, I suppose. as you can tell from my sig picture, I've got some learning to do, photo editing and so forth isnt really my forte--yet!

cool, thanks Drvolt. Looks like we're gonna go ahead with the SC series 34" cutter, and further down the line, when our budget allows w'll get a nicer cutter. I see in your sig you use both Corel and Inkscape, which do you prefer and why?

    3M Scotchprint 1080 Carbon Fiber

does it have 'depth' to it when you look at it like real carbon fiber? I've yet to see a CF vinyl that actually, really, truly, looks like carbon fiber. If you look at most vinyls hard/long enough, you can tell it's vinyl.

    Free 3M Sample rolls

 free vinyl would be great for my upstart
  5. hey all, thought I'd join up, as I'm looking into purchasing an SC series cutter. I plan on using it to cut vinyl to use as a dying mask to dye disc golf discs, as well as cut vinyl tint film(headilght/taillight films), single color decals and logos, and so forth and so on. On US Cutter's website, it says the SC series won't cut tint. In fact, the first cutter that's listed that will cut tint is the Copam, which costs over twice as much. I have about a $300 budget for my cutter/software so even the SC series cutter is a stretch for me. the films used for headlight/taillight films isnt window tint, it's a different kind of film, right? Will I be able to cut this with the SC? or am I looking at delaying getting my side company started for another 6+ months? I'm also looking for a good place to get metallic vinyl that matches standard automotive paint colors, anyone got a good link? I'm most interested in matching the 2010-2012 Ford Mustang color Kona Blue, although there are other colors I'd like to match too
