  1. The only thing is it only seems to have issues with text about 15mm in height everything else thats bigger seems fine, therefore not sure if its software or the cutter?? tim
  2. what does the offset actually do?
  3. no it happens mainly to just small text everything else seems ok (ive used multiple files - im sure the file is all good) Ill take a pic when i get to work i the morning and post it. Im using signcut my offset value is .25 my blade sticks out only a whisker (about the thickness of vinyl) I have played with the length though and seems to do nothing. Tim
  4. ok sorry, i dont have a pic at moment but what i mean by wonky is this. Pirture the letter "T" made up of a verticle line and a horizontal line. Well instead of the lines being perfectly straight the lines are jaggered in places. Its gererally with smaller text, larger text and graphics are fine just with smaller text. When I say small I dont mean really tiny or too thin lets say txt thats bold and maybe 15mm in height. If this doesnt describe the prob, ill take a pic of a job ive just done and attatch it.
  5. Hi Just wanted to ask if anyone had some solutions to my proble. Myrefine 721 was cutting fine except for now the edges of my lettering is a bit "wonky", as in a bit dog legged. I have read this forum and checked that the cariage is on the tracks properly. I have reinstalled a brand new blade, checked the pressure etc. but still no joy any other suggestions??? Thanks Tim

    Noobe Vector help

I am a newbie too, and I cant see why everyone has dramas with the usb connection. I installed the usb driver in here and set it up and ran like a dream. I have mine running off my mac (in PC mode) only have usb conections available and is 100% trouble free. You just have to make sure that the baud rate is set to 4800 on both the cutter and the software. maybe I have been lucky and my luck is going to change! touch wood. Tim

    cardboard cutting? yes or No

thanks for the advice all! Im going to give it a try tomorrow and let you kno how it goes. I had another tip from someone saying that when they cut cardboard they put a bit of the backing from some old vinyl on the back of the cardboard to prevent damage to the cutting strip. They said that they use a bit of low tak spray adhesive to make it stick nicely to the cardboard. I will keep you posted tomorrow. Can anyone give any advice as to what pressure to set the knife to? I was thinking 170??? Tim

    cardboard cutting? yes or No

Can anyone let m knw if you can cut cardboard on the refine series of cutters? I not talking really thick carboard. Myabe the thickness of a standard busines card or slightly thinner. I need to do some mockups for a client and was hoping the cutter could cut me out some intricate shapes on cardboard. thanks
