I've had to cover coroplas with matte black vinyl and then apply the letters on top of that. At first I tried it dry and had problems with air bubbles. After about the third try I went an got some rapid tac, I still had bubbles but not as many. I did notice that wnen it dries a lot of the bubbles disappear. You mentioned that your application tape is only 10.5" wide and you cut letters that are 12"-15" in height. You're going to have problems if you layer the application tape right where the tape overlaps. The first roll of Application tape I bought was 12" wide. I thought I'll never cut anything wider than that. I did, I tried overlapping the app tape and ran into problems with bubbles wet or dry. I purchased a application tape roll holder, I clamp it to the table and it works great. I lowered the rollers 2 1/2" so the tape is closer to the table and it improved the installation if the application tape. my decals didn't want to rise off of the table after that. I use a 4" plastic squeegee first. After I remove the application tape, if I have to go over the bare vinyl I use a felt edge squeegee. I hope this helps and like others have said, practice practice practice.

You might want to check if the media sensor is turned off. That would explain how It continued to cut if the vinyl ran out. This is a page from the user manual.

That's the cutting strip and it probably got gouged by having the blade depth set too deep. Yes it will effect your cutting and they are replaceable. Hello and Welcome I would do something along the lines of Auto Decal since you're already in the automotive trade. You can link the two together.

I've had good luck with Vector Magic http://vectormagic.com/home They offer a desktop version and an online version. A little trick that has helped me is to add a little blur to the image you want to vectorize sometimes it helps to smooth the edges.

If you have 24" wide vinyl and you need to make a windshield banner that lets say is 36" x 6" that leaves a strip of vinyl that's 36" x 18". That can certainly be used for another project. What are you doing, weeding off the 36" x 18" uncut vinyl? Use an exacto knife and a straight edge trim it and save it for another job. I had a job doing N numbers for a helicopter they were 8" tall and 54" long. All I had was 15" vinyl, I cut the numbers out and had a piece of vinyl left over that was 6" wide and 108" long. I was able to use the left over for another job. The price I got for the N numbers paid for the 108" x 15" vinyl 3 times over and I made more money off of the scrap.

How long has the Creative Films PRIME SERIES Film-009 Fantasy Crystal Silver holographic vinyl been sitting on the shelf before you got it? The older the vinyl the harder it comes off of the backing paper. I had a customer that wanted a decal made from one that he had sitting on a shelf for a while. I was going to mount the existing decal on a piece of coroplas, Take a photo of it , vectorize it and cut it. When I tried to separate the transfer paper and vinyl from the backing paper, the transfer tape came off but the vinyl stayed stuck to the backing paper. You might have to use an exacto knife to help release the vinyl from the backing paper and onto the application tape while you separate the two.
