  1. I'm just supplying them, I try not to install decals for people because I have a bad arm that doest let me really install much. I'm just getting back into doing vinyl and I don't remember how much I paid for my supplies but I know the Vinyl I'd use is orafol 651 which for 24" wide is $4.60 a yard...
I'm kinda a noob to the business end of this...

  2. You should convert the text to outlines if you hadn't already (Type>Create outlines) then I recommend that you turn the whole set of letters into one object by the following: Object>Compound Path>Make, then after this go to Object>Path>Offset Path and AI will pull up a submenu and let you offset the path to the desired width. If you have a fairly new version it will let you preview the results and adjust until it is what you are looking for. The offset path should be placed behind the original and ready to go but will be the same color initially so after the operation while the new path is still selected you can click a different color. You can use a stroke and expand the appearance but for what you are needing the previous is the preferred method. There are short-cut key strokes for just about every move which are listed along side them in the pull down menus, I recommend committing the common ones to memory as it will save tons of time.

THANKS! I will try it in the morning.

**EDIT:  IT WORKS WONDRFULLY! Now I just need to layer it without messing up.

  3. I worked in a print shop doing this before, Inkscape wont even open on my computer so I dont know why and I'm frustrated about that! You are the reason I came here for honest advice! I'm going to brush up on my skills with Inkscape, illustrator and other software before I do it.  It might not be for me but I will definitely try, ofcouse I wont buy equipment till I learn as much as I can!

For customers I already have is the local officemax print center said they'll sub out some work to me if I do it. (my first job ever was there in their print center before I moved on to a different shop)

  4. I am working on a project and need to make a vertical banner that is 12 inches wide and 6 feet long, know of any printable mesh material I could find that isn't outrageous   if this project takes off I will making these a lot

    Thanks

  5. Having owned a Parrot AR Drone, I'm not going to say this is impossible, but I am going to say it's going to be pretty darn tricky.  Between having the material (which needs to be light weight) not getting sucked into the props, to having it stand out enough as slow as they go to have it visualized.

Is it supposed to be like the planes at the beach you see in the summer?

I'd see it being more possible doing something vertical than horizontal.  Not trying to be a nay sayer, and maybe it would work, but in my mind, I'd have some concerns (if I owned the guinea pig drone)  lol

If you get it going - definitely take some pics!

haha It's going to be very difficult, but these guys have attached a $30k or so Epic Red camera to the bottom of a multi-roator.  (they built their own multi-roators) and I believe are building one for the job. I think it'll be hard to read but I'll do what I can for them.I'll definitely post photos when i figure it out, and eye it is supposed to be like the planes at the beach during the summer.

  6. Probably something very lightweight like Nylon. You can probably get it from a fabric store. If you do go with Nylon, you would need to use heat press vinyl, sign vinyl would not stick to it.

Or maybe you could use some white butcher paper and that of course you could use regular sign vinyl.

Thanks! I didn't think about the butcher paper! I had the idea of using heat transfer on a lightweight fabric.  I just done have a hear press so I was looking for other options first.

The owner suggested mylar, but I don't know how that would work either.
