    Graphic requests section ....

Beardown, i think its a great idea! and i think everyone on the forum would be able to use it in one way or another, there is always some graphic that I want or need but don't have, and i for one can use all the practice i can get designing custom graphics. I think the more this forum expands the more it will help US Cutter's sales, mostly because everyone one of us on here owns a cutter from them and customers always like to see other people that bought the same thing they did and see that it works!

not sure if this is what your looking for, but both of them give you a few different options when you cut them.

    looking for a good?

what program do you use for cutting or editing, i have illustrator, freehand, and inkscape and i use signcut for cutting, so i can send it to you in a jpeg as well as an eps so it is easier to edit

    Help with color layers

Hi, i am kind of new to inkscape but i installed and i think i've figured it out, i normally use freehand mx and adobe to do all of my designing but i downloaded your artwork and here is how i did it, 1. make a copy of your vector image 2.select that image and go to path, select "outset" this will make your second image larger by expanding the paths instead of just dragging it bigger 3.leave the fill and stroke in the outset image as black 4. make the original vector image red. 5. drag the original vector image on top of the outset image. it will probably end up being behind your outset image so go to object and select "raise to top" 6. move your image around to get it aligned perfectly 7.save as an .eps file 8. open in signcut. 9. if you have any questions about cutting layers in signcut, refer to this post http://uscutter.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=2&topic=191.0 here is an example, i did it with white on black, but u get the idea. ( i didnt get this aligned very well either, i was in kind of a hurry) hope this helps!

need help with enlarging text and fonts

I am not too familiar with corel, but i would think it has some of the same features as Freehand mx which has a tool called "inset path", so what i do is make the lettering i want with whatever font i want, then i use the "add points" tool to convert it to paths rather than just text, copy and paste the text so i have an exact copy, then use the "inset path" tool where you can select how much you want decrease the size. If you are doing a multi color job, make sure that your different text layers have are different colors before you send them to the cutter. like i said i am not familiar with corel so this "how to" might not work for you but here are some examples

    Cutting Hot Mark

Billy, if you get the time to do it you should type up a tutorial on using hot mark with the vinyl cutter, i have a copam 2500 and i am getting a 15 x 15 heat press. i have never done any kind of screenprinting, heat press or anything like that. i get all my designs for my clothing line done at a screenprinter and its starting to cost too much so i decided to start doing it myself. i kind of get the basics of it, but how do you do two colors, is it similar to multiple color graphics? thanx Switch

    Copam CP-2500-GREAT MACHINE

Ok this is a slightly biased review considering i have never used a refine cutter, or any other cutter for that matter, but i do have to say i LOVE my copam cp-2500 24" cutter, it works beautifully. very easy to adjust, it has an optical eye that measures the material. I have cut large signs as well as very small lettering and it has not failed me yet! i have more issues with the software than anything else. I also have to say that selltopia is one of the best buying experiences i have ever had. Marcel is extremely helpful ( i was having issues with drivers) he called me the very next day. I have a friend in the vinyl business who has a roland cutter , not sure what model, but i do know this- my copam can cut much smaller lines and lettering at a much higher speed without any problems!
  11. does anyone know if there is a pen adaptor that will work with the new copam 2500?
  12. Ok, i hooked up and installed everything like the book told me to- i dont have an available parallel port so i am using the serial to usb cord, i dont have a little white cd that says "corel" on it, instead i have a blue cd that says "usb and firewire product drivers", when i installed the cutter i installed the drivers, so now everything is hooked up. but my computer will not communicate with my cutter, i am guessing i did something wrong with the drivers, i am pretty new at installing something like this please help! thanx Byran
